I’d been watching this thing all year and got a notification from Sweetwater that they finally got them back in stock so I pulled the trigger :rock: :rock:

Should be here in about a week!

I’ve always wanted another grab and go channel switcher and I like this model a lot. If you have one post some clips to hold me over :rock:

Yeah man it’s the only one in the entire lineup that I feel will be a blast to play. I really liked the lunchbox lbx stealth and this thing is borderline unobtainium so I’m excited to get the big boy.

Dude I can’t contain my excitement. It will fit right in with the rest in the lineup and it’s nice to have something not as rare in the lineup but different than my 5150II. For once I just wanted an amp that I can just fire up and practice on without feeling the desire to fuck with it or guilty of burning through super expensive glass. My 5150II is amazing but it really is only kept around for what it does at stupid loud levels.

The EVH cab is loaded with 25W celestions with evh stickers on them isn’t it? I have two cabinets with 25W G12Ms so it sounds like it will be right at home with the others :rock:

Killer setup by the way!! I can’t wait

They have nothing but raging reviews and you know they’re a good amp when you don’t see them in rotation within the classifieds. Tbh I’m confident it will sound great and have way more than enough gain and body/mids to hang with the best.

I’d play before I buy, but these are so damn hard to find, I really only had the lunchbox version to go by. I’m still stoked and excited to get it in as it ticks all of the boxes :rock:
 
I've owned almost every 5150 amp out there, 5150 sig, block, 5150II, EVH 5150III 100 watt and 50 watt stealth and EL-34 versions. The III's are freaking fire breathers, on the red channel, I think they have 7 gain stages on the red and 5 on the blue.
When I play downtuned stuff I really like the III's over any other amp because they cut so much bass on the front end and with the red channel you can run the gain at like 2-3 and the amp feels very intense with lots of gain. No boost really needed for this amp. I currently have the 50 watt stealth and just really enjoying that amp and every channel is great. I've watched some Ola videos and he does a good job capturing that III's EL-34 version.

Me as well, tried the rest and 1 particular 5153 50 I had was killer…sold it…bought 2 more but couldn’t replicate that first one.
Had the 6L6 Stealth; didn’t care for it as much as that first 50w.
Almost bought the 100w EL34 a few times…still curious about it.
Looking forward to your review!
 
There is a great YT video on that amp and some secret settings that not a lot realize it has.
Had the 1/2 stack as well and sold it some time ago
He does a mix of the gains on the Blue and Red channels.

Just for comparisons sake since we linked the vid for the 6L6 stealth, here’s Ola’s EL34 vid. I really like the mid voicing of the EL34 more but love the aggressiveness of the top end for the 6L6. I’m assuming it’s due to the dimed presence on the 6L6 though.

Here's the deal . I bought the 50 watt el34 version just to try it out and was so impressed with it I bought the 4x12 cabinet . Considering how much high end stuff I have this combination sounds great . In fact I like it so much I'm probably going to buy the 100 watt head. You will not be disappointed with this rig and it even sounds good at lower gain levels . One of my great sleeper purchases .

I still keep a 100 watt stealth in the herd .

Since you and I both are more Marshall I’m actually glad I swung for the EL34 over the 6L6 stealth after hearing the 6L6 wasn’t your thing. I do like the more forward mids of the EL34 as I hated the scooped sound of the original series.

I’m more of a try before I buy, but my Bogner and this amp are two that are so rare and impossible to find that I put a watch notification on after a ton of clips and just said it’s worth a try!
