I really was just trying to give some constructive feedback and got a passive aggressive, defensive response that I responded to and his responses just kept getting worse and worse. It's kind of silly that he deleted all his posts. I quoted just about everything he said going forward anyway in my responses, so it is pretty clear where he went with this...ibenhad":2xaxuy9i said:

To be honest, I could have just let it go as well, but in the heat of the moment, his initial reaction pissed me off and IMO he accelerated things from there without him really listening to my responses and thinking about what I'd really said... I hold no grudge or hard feeling about any of this frankly though. If he posts another killer amp or mod clip, I'll say so, regardless of his attacking my playing - that really doesn't affect me - I know where I stand as a guitarist/musician and it certainly ain't at the top of the heap.
If he posts another full song asking for comments, I'll just keep my thoughts to myself...Steve

Apparently that was not something the OP could draw from in a positive way and move on.The OP's immediate reply about Steve not being able to understand "fusion" was THE dickbag move in the thread. That response translated as: you can't comment on my playing cause you're stupid and have no idea what genius I'm busting out here. It was pretty fucking infantile for the OP to then attack Steve's playing as a way of striking back. Perhaps the OP should have stated up front that only Vai, Malmsteen, Gilbert, DiMeola, Metheny and the like are "qualified" to give him any sort of negative feedback on his playing. But he posted his request here, and unless I'm mistaken, none of those players are on this forum....so....his bad.
Make no mistake, constructive criticism is STILL criticism - and criticism IS negative, but constructive criticism (which is what I saw being offered) is intended to help and build, not tear down. People who can't understand and accept that, usually have a tough time in life.

I only read page one and skimmed the third page. My interpretation of events here is that OP posted a tune and asked for opinions. Steve K chimed in, offered constructive criticism, didn't slam it at all. OP's response was a bit butt hurt and condescending. Things escalated from there. And Dickola, your post on page three is one of the WORST posts I've ever read on this forum. No matter how mad someone makes you, especially on the internet, responding in that way only shows mental instability or immaturity at minimum. This place is pretty cool in general, but posts like that are grounds for a reprimand. All of this is, of course, IMHO.
