Sounds great to me!
I had no idea there was an actual VH recording of that song from back then. I knew the reunion album had a lot of old 'ideas' on it, but didn't realise some were basically 35 year old complete songs..

Still sounded like Ed, although a little less gain, even though he was playing through Ace Frehley's amps for those ZERO/Simmons demos

Yeah, I totally agree with ya, Eddie sounds like Eddie no matter what he's using.
I didn't know those were Frehley's Super Leads.
That's very interesting, I assumed it was his '68 Plexi all along because of that nasally mid range tone.

Every true VH fan needs to get the "That's All Folks" bootleg compilation CD! It was recorded before the first album, yet there are so many later tunes with different leads, or different lyrics! Very cool!

Sounds good although I don't think the "Zero Tone" version sounds much like Ed's tone on the recording. You're using more gain and the distortion characteristics are different and the difference in midrange is significant.
