Sounds killer , I think I know the amp your using from your other clips but what pickup is being used ?

Sounds great to me!

I had no idea there was an actual VH recording of that song from back then. I knew the reunion album had a lot of old 'ideas' on it, but didn't realise some were basically 35 year old complete songs..

Still sounded like Ed, although a little less gain, even though he was playing through Ace Frehley's amps for those ZERO/Simmons demos :)

Thank you!!

The amp is my '68 Marshall Plexi and the guitar was my black Ibanez RG with a DiMarzio AT-1 in the bridge.

Thank you for commenting on the clip.

Yeah, you can find the whole Zero demo on youtube, it's really worth a listen.

Yeah, I totally agree with ya, Eddie sounds like Eddie no matter what he's using.

I didn't know those were Frehley's Super Leads.
That's very interesting, I assumed it was his '68 Plexi all along because of that nasally mid range tone.

Love these early demos. It's cool how you can hear part of the solo to what would eventually become "Mean Street" on "She's the Woman."

It's funny that in the new version of "She's the Woman" he doesn't play that "Mean Street" Phase 90 lead-in to the solo.
Eddie probably didn't want to over play it. :)

Very cool! I think you nailed it. If you add in the chorus effect I think your there!

Aswesome Michael!

Note how the original lyrics are cooler than the "AKOT" updated version? Same goes for all the tunes they took from the demos! Every true VH fan needs to get the "That's All Folks" bootleg compilation CD! It was recorded before the first album, yet there are so many later tunes with different leads, or different lyrics! Very cool!

Yeah, I heard a lot of the early bootleg tunes on youtube, very cool indeed.

Sounds great, is your amp modded ?

Thank you kindly Sir.

Yes, my amp is modded with a PPIMV and a couple of circuit tweaks. ;)

Can't imagine that funky phased shifted part (Dance baby!) on anything other than Mean Streets. I'm glad they didn't release She's The Woman before Fair Warning.

Sounds good although I don't think the "Zero Tone" version sounds much like Ed's tone on the recording. You're using more gain and the distortion characteristics are different and the difference in midrange is significant.
