I was born in the summer of 69 which happens to be a great number; But if I recall sultans of swing came out that year which to me is one of the best solos written on their self titled album I remember looking at that album for hours.

Oh yeah I had all these and all the other Kiss albums loan them to a friend in high school 1986 he left them in his mom and dad's Pontiac station wagon on a 95° day and ruined my whole collection??

In '78 i was living in Rockford, Illinois and my stepdad was a DJ at the largest top 40 radio station. Disco was a big thing there but I remember all the younger adults talking about Cheap Trick. A lot of the high school kids were wearing little Cheap Trick buttons....good times in that city man.

Call me crazy but aside from the lead playing, there is zero doubt in my mind that musicianship and song writing were much stronger through the 70's.
