Hey Guys,

I received this amp to add a tube FX loop and it ended up being a bit more work than that.
For some reason, the power transformer had been replaced in the past and the work was done extremely poorly.
The transformer also didn't seem to be that good, so we decided on swapping it for a new one.
There were also two replaced tube sockets that were in very bad shape, which I had to replace again.

Since I knew that the amp would be used with a Mr. Scary mod, I cleaned up the preamp heaters to reduce noise and added shielded grids on V1.
I also cleaned up some of the other wiring to reduce noise and crosstalk.

Here's the amp with the new FX loop

Looks like clean work! Looks like the standard cathode follower Send and gain stage Return. Are those Send and Return level trimmers on the board?

It is amazing the killer 80s metal tones these things get with just an overdrive in front of them. That is the sound of the 80s to me.
