ANNOUNCEMENT:

Please anyone coming to the event do not being cables or channel switchers. No power cables, no guitar cables, no speaker cables etc.. No channel switchers unless you can't change channels without out the channel switcher. I have everything. It's easier if we only use my stuff. Thanks.

P.S. Jamie from 3rd Power is overnighting a bunch of amps and cabs! Hell yeah.

I'm glad Andy Wood was up for loaning out his Colossus! Note that this amp has the "Wood Mod" permanently installed, which thickens up the Lead 1 and Lead 2 channels. This is great for standard and drop-D tunings, but can be a bit too much for 7-string and drop tuned stuff. :)

:checkthisout:

Man - check out most of all of the pre-work vids.

Super impressive. Can't wait!

This was am AWESOME time!! James and crew literally blasted through amps like an assembly line!! we all hung out either there with the amps or in a back room that was right next to the room that James had the Cabs set up in so you could hear exactly what was coming out vice up front with the mix. Got to chat with Greg and Ossie for a good long time!! I gotta make it down to their shop one of these days!! Ossie bringing his original Jose was just killer!! We fired it up and everyone nearby was like "that thing smells like an old toaster" as I think we were burning all the saw dust off of the tubes!! LOL Todd driving out from Kentucky with a truckload of killer amps was awesome too...his LP was KILLER!!! Same with who ever shipped out the Luxxtone Day of the Dead guitar!! I have loved the paintjob on that thing since the first time I saw it....it has a HUGE neck on it..practically a R8 baseball neck. Lots of guys dug the Luxxtone Choppa that I brought along too....with the bead blasted grey finish and a much thinner neck...I think Jerry and David were well represented. Also, to see Andy Woods colossus was a treat too!! Amazing amp!!! Just a LOT of amps that I have ALWAYS wanted to hear and see in person that rarely make it to this neck of the wood!! Huge thanks to all who shared all their gear!! I know the pucker factor thats involved with boxing up and amp and letting it go to someone else house and pray it doesnt get demolished in shipping!!!

Only drawback for me is I was late finishing up all the bbq and having to go buy stuff to go with it that I didnt even get to hear my own amp (SLO Rackmount) as James did it early in the day! LOL Sorry I was late Brudda!! :D thats what I get!!

Which one sounded the best....well all I can say is that they ALL sounded great....there wasnt a single one that you walked away saying that "I didnt like the sound of that" which is a testament to how great it is to be a guitar player at this moment in time.

Thanks again for hosting all this James...cant wait to download all the clips!!!

Here's a little fun party video. What a great time and everyone pitched in and made this possible. We were all dialing in amps together, even Kyle Rhodes skyped in and helped us dial in the Colossus. I will have all the files and videos available in a few days.

Truly an amazing undertaking. Awesome work! Can't wait to hear the clips!
