Spent a couple of hours today experimenting with mic placement etc... Someone had suggested using the bottom 2 speakers on the cabs instead of the top, I tried it and really liked it. Also.....check this out we were taping the with gaffers tape around the capsule of the mics so we could have our sweet spot marked and we realized that was slightly muffling the sound, actually more then slightly, a bunch. So we took the tape off and replaced it with very thin pieces of tape and it sounds way better. I never would have imagined that mattering but it did. Anyway, I think the sounds on the Recto/V30 and Avatar/GB are much better now. Here's a clip of each with my '71 Marshall Super Tremolo in Hairy Brown Eye mode with my Les Paul.

P.S. I just realized I wanted to back off the Presence and Treble a touch, but I had a client skype in as I was getting ready to record and got distracted and forgot. So the tracks are a tad bitey. The amp was set a bit bright cause the foam huts were a tad darker then my old tent. And my initial settings were set to my darker mic placement.
