Well....I went to the local GC and played a couple and whew...who was the brain trust at Gibson who decided on the neck profiles???? They feel like an Ibanez neck  !!!!!!

The feel of an Ibanez neck is great on an....Ibanez. Gibson's???? Not so much. Would love to hear peoples thoughts on this.

Gibson has totally lost it this time!! The 2015's are jacked up....the auto tuner, neck width, and pricing is just ridiculous! 2014 was the last of the good ones (Traditional speaking).

The 2015 Les Paul is a disaster. Retarded auto tuner, stupid scribbled logo, the nut, small frets, the neck profile soo wide you can land a 747 on it. It's like they said to themselves, "what do people NOT want in a guitar...let's do that."

A 2015 PRS SC245 wipes the floor with a 2015 Les Paul standard IMHO.

Repeat after me. The old good gibson are used gibsons. And not all of them are so great either. Just saying you got to be crazy to buy a 2015 les paul.. You can get some series nice older ones for the same money with much better workmanship.
At least that's my .02
///MK

I had a 2006 standard. One of the only guitars I regret selling.

I love gibson

But I can't get used to the feel of the wider board.

Everything else not too bad except the Parkinson's signature.

I think they introduced the "under cutting" of the frets last year on some models. Now I think it is common on the entire line. Man......It has been 4 days since I tried them and still cannnot get over that weird fucking neck......

Henry has F,d things up so much its ridiculous.
Bad idea after bad idea is forced on so many models now its sickening.
Gibson is Way more about image than substance thanks too douche bag Henry.

The sad thing is that there are still guys out there who buy these. I seriously can't imagine paying $3500-$3800 for a new Standard when I can get a 2011 for $1700. The fanboys are gonna keep it going for awhile, but after they realize they can't sell em even they'll quit buying new. I really think he's trying to run this company into the ground.

Who are these people at Gibson that think all this lame shit is a good idea? They CAN'T be guitar players. Not one of em.

Is Gibson going for the shredder guitar market now? Not a fan of wide necks at all. Thick necks I can deal with, but wide not so much, but I am far from a shredder type.

I will stick with my heavy as lead '04 standard LE and '73 LP custom. Both weigh in at 10 lbs or so.

What do you mean by "under cutting"?

I was unaware of this travesty. The new headstock is an abomination. Gibson is a company that has fallen into the misguided thinking that "more is better". In the case of a Les Paul, LES is better. Tradition is better. History is better. Don't try to "fix" the Les Paul - it was fine for almost 50 years. Now, it's all fucked up.

And they have WAY too many models. They should have Studio, Standard, and Custom for standard lines. Everything else should be through custom shop (made to order).

I wanted 2 humbucker set neck guitar this year but I wound up going with a PRS s2 mira which was cheaper and better than any of the new gibsons....

It's basically doing the frets/binding like all the rest of the guitars out there...the non-retarded way.
probably the only good move on the newish models!
Can't believe anybody thought that was a good idea in the first place...
