I don't really consider myself picky but I would not be super happy gigging shit off that list. A LP and Strat would be just fine, but the amp and FX situation is dismal.

Then again I suspect the vast majority of the buyers don't play out or very little.

This list makes me sad ☹️
Though I do wonder what it would look like if they excluded modelers or anything digital in the amp category.

The DSL40 is on the list. I could happily gig with one of those. I’m a cheap date, all I need is one good distorted tone. A boosted 2203 is the grail for me, but straight into a DSL is a fun time too. The Orange Micro Dark and Vox AC15 are also both workable with the right pedal in front (I keep a terror stamp in my bag as my backup amp, same circuit as the micro dark), but I’d definitely want either of those miked.

I guess I didn't see the 2nd pages. That's better than some of the options, but a 3rd world made open back Marshall combo would have an uphill battle to convince me it didn't suck. Maybe I'm picky after all.

I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged into one the first time. It’s not a 2203 half stack, but it’s definitely a Marshall

I have aa few Marshall's (1959HW, JVM410H, JCM 900 SL-X) and boutique Marshall flavors (Bogner Helios Eclipse 100, Engl Artist Edition 100), ... all EL34 powered...except the SL-X which is 5881 powered.

but I also have a Marshall DSL40CR 1x12 combo, and Origin 50C 1x12 Combo (sold the Origin 50H head but still like it, just didn't need it). Both of these small combo amps work great. Both have effects loops that work great; the power scaling on both work great. The DSL40CR has two channels.

I've used both in 4CM with a Line 6 HX-Effects, and Boss GX-100 (effects only) and it worked great. I often just run straight into either or put an EQ pedal in front to give me additional tones/boost.

Both are versatile, sound great and feel great IME.

The Origin covers JTM to plexi tones; the DSL covers JCM 800 to JCM 2000, IMO.

Good, solid Marshall tones for not a lot of money. FWIW, I use these on an angled amp stand; I think they sound better off the floor.
