I think it also depends on where you are based and what your local market is like. I used to live in the Netherlands up until recently and my local market was brilliant and there was always interesting people to trade/buy/sell things with. Now I live offshore and there ain't no chance people are going to pay shipping fees from here, let alone the fact that I am in Europe and not USA or Canada where I see many of the forum are.

Which members are from Greece, Germany, and Poland? I honestly can only think of PeterC52 or however you spell it who is from Europe and Crystal Sky who is from Azerbaijan.

Man going to Greece is one of my dream vacations. They say Crete is like the Greek version of Texas. Maybe go and never come back....

I had a desert experience for a while selling stuff on this forum and TGP. But, I lowered my prices enough to make the amps attractive. In a couple of weeks, I sold three amps. I was pleasantly surprised. I took a bath on one, but the other two I was able to make a little extra... Nothing major, but enough to be thankful...

In my experience, most of the time the time it takes to sell something depends on where youre listing it (its desirability on that forum/whatever) and the price you list it for - if you list something for a realistic price, it's probably gonna move :dunno:

If it doesn't, either it's not a realistic price, or it's not listed in the right places

I was able to sell a few things... back in 2010 lol I don't even list custom shop les pauls or expensive amps here anymore.

In the past year I’ve sold

Deluxe Reverb RI
Orange OR15
PRS Holcmob 7
LTD Stef 7
Blackat HDA7
Ibanez RG7420
Peavey Delta Blues
USA Strat
Taylor 210
Framus Cobra

& did ok on all of them, one or two I had to drop the price to $100 or so less than I wanted. I bought a few things for a little less than the going rate though, so probably came out even in the end.

Last week two people who had just registered on TGP with no post or transaction history made offers on a guitar and amp I was selling. I was suspicious when both offered to pay cash app and send me UPS labels. But they paid and signed for the items and the Venmos are irreversible. Still need to thin the herd a little, but I cannot decide with Les Paul to sell. I really can't part with my Custom black beauty, but one of the Standards has to go and I can't decide which it will be.
