3 amps test - Mark IV vs Peavey Triple XXX vs Ultra plus

So hard to tell. All those amps are capable of so many voices...then throw in the recording.

Damn it. The Ultra sounded more like a scooped Mesa GEQ, but you had the mids a tad higher on the Mesa. Sneaky bastard. :D The XXX is so rude sounding it just stands out. Cool clips!

Haha thx dude! Actually the mids were almost scopped, like a hair above the last line on the GEQ! It's just that all mesa marks have tons of mids ! The peaveys sound great for recording with the mids at 9 o clock. From my experience with the ultra plus so far, it seems to me that it sounds A LOT like the bastard child of a mesa boogie mark III - IV! I had read several posts from people claiming that it sounds really close to the mark iv so this is one of the reasons I pulled the trigger! Again, this is the 60 watts version with 2 power tubes! The 120 watts will have more headroom!

Just a hair above that line will definitely give you an extra little squirt of mids! :lol: :LOL:
 
They all sounded good, but I preferred the second one best because it sounded the most balanced! Cheers
