6505 experts.. modded one FS

One locally here for sale cheap. It’s a USA made.
Asked the guy about the extra knob and apparently it’s a mid shift

In theory it should have the original tone of the amp plus other tonal options?

Anyone had experiences with this sort of mod on an amp?

I don’t like the full on 6505/5150 mods that take away the original character of the amp

If it's the same mod, this video explains it. It replaces the slope resistor with a pot (variable resister). I think it would be a pretty useful mod to a 6505.

 
It’s a mid shift not a mid scoop like a contour. It affects the bass frequencies as much as the mids.

Personally that’s a mod that’s perfect for anyone that things a 5150 is honky or the mids sit weird for their speakers. It’s helpful when you need more mids with greenbacks but less with V30s which are already mid present. I use a fixed version of this in my 5150 II FWIW.
