I know that Winged C is flawless but you know ... They cost too much for me.
Of course I can bought them - no problem for me , but I want to have a decent amount tubes tried first.

Go with a set of Ruby BHT's. They sound great for the money.

Ok ;)
So If I will set pot for EL34 mode , put tubes and set up the bias the amp will work without any problems ?
And the stock measure holes are ok ?

Yes, but you first need to find out the plate voltage to set the bias correctly.

Thanks man.
Are you sure that when I put el34 and put the siwtch to el34 it won't blow or fry my amp ?
Someone in the net wrote that el34 can fry or damage 6l6gc amp so I'm bit confused a bit now

That information is correct if the amp doesn't accept the tubes you're putting in it. Most likely it just blew a fuse but anyways... In your case, you're amp is capable of using either type of tube as long as you select the correct type.

You know there was something like that early models of xxx has weak screen resistors which can blew or fry when you put an EL34 (Not the E34L!) and later Peavey fixed that by putting the better screen resistors. The most confusing thing is that early models was also equipped with this 6l6/el34 switch and the El34 will blew screen resistors so ... WTF ?

You know maybe I will put the winged C el34 and as you know they are not cheap so I'm bit frightened ...

Well I don't know the whole history on the amps. I'm only going off of what I know that would normally work.

GREATLY prefer 6L6s in the XXX personally. The amp is far too bitey with EL-34s imo. The 6L6s give it a much rounder , fuller sound

Quoted for truth!

To my ears EL34s make the two gain channels too similar in tone. Too much grinding midrange honk.

I will say that some of the KT77 clips sound better than EL34, but not as good as 6L6 clips to my ears.

From the description of the tone, I think that the 6ca7s would be the perfect EL34 type glass for XXX if someone wanted both the 6L6s tone with a little more grind. If I used my XXX more I'd def put those in, sadly she gets little use now that I mave my RK.
