80 stages of gain from 40 12AX7's

This is actually a preamp tube burn-in rig I build for Doug's Tubes.
He'll be offering higher quality preamp tubes shortly.
I'm going to build another, but this time add jacks, and an output transformer so you can plug in!

Hahahah, do double check with the HoM guys, I believe that's a term that I co-oped from them. I'm sure they'd be flatter, but, just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

I'm just thinking of the 3 hours of changing out one tube at a time to get the culprit.... Or the tube experimentation -

Let's see, it sounds best with an RFT in V1, jj in V2, rubies in V3-6, sovtek in V7, eh in V8. That took four months. Now, only 4 rows to go!!!

I've hit a bong once in the past 20yrs, and came down with pneumonia
the same day. Never hit one since, but I'm not affraid to
hit a cigarette once and while provided is "good" tobacco.
