howabout a combination for 70s-80s ROCK, when considering an amp with EL-34 power section?

and i've tried to like JJs and groove tubes, but i have yet to place a single 12ax7 offered by those companies in any amp that i've played that made me leave them in.

i'm a mullard/brimar/EH/chinese kinda guy.

All of my products ship with SED EL34's, and JJ ECC83's.
Could always be better, but certainly reliable and sounds good.

plus, what would that sucker weigh with the trannys attached, 400 lbs?

For that to happen they'd all have to be wired in series,
and that would require a 240V heater supply one way,
or 480V the other. I like 6V parallel better.

Looks cool, but I don't really see a need. And, 40 or 80 stages of gain will never happen in reality. 3 or 4 is more than enough for most applications.

I have no intentions of building an 80 stage preamp,
this next one will be a poweramp with 32 output tubes,
the other 8 will cover the preamps.

Very cool. With that many OP tubes are you going to try OTL?

It's a different sound with OTL. From what I've experienced, almost like SS.
