Now that's some shredded cheese with extra cheese sauce on the side. I do however miss the old days . . .

Thought this was so 1988 hair cheese you guys might enjoy seeing it.

That's the 80s entirely encapsulated.

However, even for 1988 that looks dated. The corny video effects seem to be stuck in 1984.

In saying that, I agree that the 80s bashing has become 'old'. Laughing at how bad 80s stuff was big 10 or so years ago (and often concealed affection & nostalgia for those 'retro' moments(, so by now has started to become stale and dated in itself. However what is more lame are the attempts at parodying and poking fun at 90s stuff.
The only 'bad' 90s stuff was when it still was in the shadow of the 1980s. The rest of the 1990s isn't really that archaic.

I watched this video because I'm always interested in what equipment musicians use, whether or not if I like the sounds. I think Bob Bradshaw tended to package the same effects units in his rack mount systems for lots of musicians- they all seem to have similar setups.

Ahh, so he finally released that thing! Cool. I wonder if Suhr's TriStereo effects pedal will be released as well? Or was that killed off by the Vertex?
I didn't know Suhr was making a TS effect? I'll be checking into it... Thanks!

No worries man. Yeah there was a lot of talk about it a couple years back. I harpered on about it on other forums to the point that some got annoyed by me...

However I am also wondering like you if the Vertex canned that idea.

Real funny guys..think about those of us that LIVED those days..and had to wear that shit..

I would rather wear the clothes from the 80's than walk around with my pants down to my knees and my underwear hanging out like today. Look at the guys in the bands back then, they were all skinny. Look at today's crop of rockers, many are 25 - 50 pounds overweight.

The 80's look weird now but I'll take that over today's look any day, especially the way the women looked. :D :D

Whitesnake was in Houston for tour years ago (I think with Vai playing) and Campbell did a clinic where he never picked up the guitar...said his hands were cold and didn't want to play.

whatever

I got to jam with Vivian back in the day ('89?) and he was great. Very nice guy.

I ordered a TERC from Fulltone last month. Marsa's clips on Huge Racks forum sound fabulous! I picked up a minty TC 1210 on a Reverb BIN sale to use while I'm waiting... It blew the mains fuse after 15 seconds! :gethim:

Damn that sucks about the 1210!

I haven't heard Marsa's clips yet. Is the TERC on its way to you yet?

I paid the balance, but I haven't received any tracking info yet.

I located the former head of TC Electronic servicing (Denmark) who now resides in the USA. I shipped the 1210 to him for repair and calibration last Friday. He says there is a capacitor on the effects board that (once it fails) causes the mains fuse to pop. I'm going to run the TERC into the 1210 through the stereo loop of my TC2290 delay.

It's fun to bag on the 80's because today's musical climate is soooo much better.

Vivian can play circles around all the numetal douchebags that have come and gone.

Yo, it's not 97' any more
Nu Metal died about the time Rap metal died 14 yrs ago,

Tons of super shredders out on the scene the past 10 years

They should have given you the tracking info by now. Honestly I would not have paid them until they had given the tracking number.

How would you run the TERC in a stereo effects loop, when it only has a mono input? The original Dyno My Piano/Dytronics units were labelled as a "Chorus/Splitter", so they take a mono signal, split it into three, run their fancy chorus thingamajigs, then somehow mix it down to left and right stereo channels for the output. So the way I'm interpreting this, you'd lose half your original guitar signal coming out of the TC2290. Unless that's what you want?

Will you be using the TC1210's and TC2290's chorusing in conjunction with the TERC? Or switch on each for different sounds?

TrueTone,

Was your 1210 able to be repaired? I have a similar issue with mine and in need of an expert to fix it.

Thanks,

JK

All the hate for 80s hair metal is funny to me... yes... we dressed funny, poofed up our hair and wore eye liner. Women were a huge part of our fanbase back then and we got paid real money to play. I don't remember playing any shows back then where the bar wasn't packed.

Go to a metal show these days and you get to see a bunch of sweaty dudes beating each other up to some dude pretending he is cookie monster and most of the bands don't get paid. At 11, the bar will be less than half full.

I think I would take the 80s and early 90s hair metal era over the current one any day of the week.
