Marsa's clips on Huge Racks forum sound fabulous! I picked up a minty TC 1210 on a Reverb BIN sale to use while I'm waiting... It blew the mains fuse after 15 seconds!![]()
Damn that sucks about the 1210!
I haven't heard Marsa's clips yet. Is the TERC on its way to you yet?
I located the former head of TC Electronic servicing (Denmark) who now resides in the USA. I shipped the 1210 to him for repair and calibration last Friday. He says there is a capacitor on the effects board that (once it fails) causes the mains fuse to pop. I'm going to run the TERC into the 1210 through the stereo loop of my TC2290 delay.
They should have given you the tracking info by now. Honestly I would not have paid them until they had given the tracking number.
How would you run the TERC in a stereo effects loop, when it only has a mono input? The original Dyno My Piano/Dytronics units were labelled as a "Chorus/Splitter", so they take a mono signal, split it into three, run their fancy chorus thingamajigs, then somehow mix it down to left and right stereo channels for the output. So the way I'm interpreting this, you'd lose half your original guitar signal coming out of the TC2290. Unless that's what you want?
Will you be using the TC1210's and TC2290's chorusing in conjunction with the TERC? Or switch on each for different sounds?
The TC2290's #5 stereo loop is mono send/stereo return. I was going to go: TC #5 loop mono send > TERC mono in > TERC stereo out > TC1210 stereo in > TC1210 stereo out > TC2290 #5 loop stereo in. Where the TC1210 shines IMO is as a flanger. If you set the TC1210 controls up to flange in chorus mode, you'll get the most realistic "through-zero" tape flange effect ever!
I no-longer have the TERC, but still own the TC1210.
