Nice... if they'd make one with just the bridge humbucker, ebony or rosewood neck, and matching or black headstock ('80s Model 2 or Model 5A), I'd send them my money now. Wish they'd bring the toothpaste logo, too, like a Fusion Deluxe or 750XL short-scale. I can always dream.

The control layout is stupid. They were basically making these guitars in HSS for the last 10 years, so this is nothing new.

Yep. Same gripe I, (and many others), have with the American Series Jacksons. I don't get why these manufacturers don't just use a Gotoh. You're using an imported bridge anyway with the 1000-series, why not use a superior imported Japanese trem they can likely buy for pennies on the dollar in volume? Many would see it as an upgrade - I certainly would. At least Jackson uses a 1500 with SS parts and push-in arm, Charvel's just using the problematic P.O.S. 1000. Hard pass for me..
