I was just watching where some Canadians and an Aussie went to Alabama to try to go noodling, but they wound up not being able to get anything. The guy the took them was upset with himself afterward. There are too many alligators and snapping turtles down here for me to ever want to try doing that!
I saw a video back in the day on liveleak of a woman noodling, she all of the sudden screams and luckily pulls her hand out just in time, she was bleeding but....snapping turtle. I am enough of a midwest redneck to know I am not doin that shit.
If she survived with her digits or hand (if it was big enough) still attached, she is all right. Snapping turtles are all over the place down here. We have more alligators than Florida too. Throw in cottonmouth snakes in the water, and it's a beautiful stew!
Heck yes! At one point, I was pretty good at throwing the bottle over the top of the car to hit the signs (while I was driving.)
Same! There was a guy named "turtle man" or something stupid with a tv show a while back. The dude would walk through 5' deep cow pasture pods with shit in them to feel all along the bottom and get a big old snapping turtle with his bare hands.
Some people have gotten drug off and drowned from noodling. Some of those fish are huge and powerful.
