Please be patient and listen to the solo. Terry Kath was such a great musician, but got very little recognition. Jimi Hendrix was quoted saying he thought Kath was a great player.

I F'ing love Terry Kath. One of the best players of the time. I think Hendrix even considered Terry better than himself.

Still a dream of mine to do a Chicago tribute that plays only the early stuff.

Terry Kath with a pre-CBS Strat through an Acoustic solid-state amp and who knows what for speakers. I watch this concert every once in a while. I didn't get Chicago when I was a kid, it sounded hokey and big band and I was way into Hendrix, Van Halen, Rory Gallagher, Clapton and guitar fronted music. Chicago was something else with this line up and when 25 or 6 would come on the radio, they'ed chop the lead off so I never knew about the guitar parts. I don't think he could play a bad note with his style, it's as if he's talking. The equivalent of Yes, The Who, Led Zeppelin, ELP, and the other super groups of the day.

Terry blew his brains out when he was 31 years old.

You can look at the sun, just don't stare.
You can always have fun, just not there.

love Chicago...mostly and especially the older/original stuff with kath. have a cousin, was the guitarist in a local/regional beach/top-40 band back in the day. they'd practice at his dads place. i used to hang out as a kid a listen to them for hours...f'kn loved it. Chicago was always on the set list. they didn't have the brass to cover all the brass,,,but still, they were awesome. he always told me, boy if you can play kath, you can play.

i saw a thing on AXS (maybe) recently where Terry's daughter travels around searching for his (lost) guitar. it's a couple years old i think...but still worth the watch, if you haven't seen it.

Who doesn't know Terry Kath?

I imagine that most people under the age of 30 have no clue who he is.
And you actually think there are people in this forum under 30  :D
