A heart felt note to the folks at Fractal...

It a big claim lets see ..

One day he will probably do it .tube amps really cant go anywhere else .
I asked flat out on the Fractal forum about the Axe 2 in the room sound with the cabs off through a solid state amp and 412 ..Cliff said the model and the real amp in his tests were "indistinguishable"
When i think he says better in some ways than the original .I think he is is talking lower noise floor and the ability to be able to tweak a whole bunch of virtual parameter's instead of ripping and amp to pieces and having to solder different components.
Also you can get that cranked to 11 sound at reasonable volume and not Uberschall deafning levels

Ps Don, you should be linking people to that paul stanley video it may be gayer than Al in that other one you post

And then in 5 years there will be another "revolt" where people will ditch their modelers and go back to tube amps, because it's simpler and more real.

Wow, when have people ditched their rack stuff and gone back to good ol tube amps? Deja Vu.

And apparently, some MEN did indeed base their BUY button hit on the fact they'd spoken with FA-HQ and were ensured all was well and nothing new was coming out... This is where some of the potential legal and financial charge back repurcussions are starting to brew.

V.

"Legal"? Oh fucking come on. There's no legally binding contract from someone calling up and asking "hey, is there anything new coming out?" "No, not at this point".

The price is/was $2000 for these features. These people either liked it for that amount and agreed upon it, or they don't. What a bunch of chapped ass, sandy vagina douchebags.

Do you honestly think for one second that if I e-mailed Steve Jobs himself if there was a new iPhone coming out next month he'd say "yeah there is, don't buy an iPhone 4 right now".

Self-entitled dipshits. They don't have a leg to stand on.

It may not be legally wrong, but it's still F'd up. FA could have simply said, "we have something new coming out, you may or may not choose to wait and see what it is ." Sure it might hurt sales a little, but they would still sell those units. They use to discount them anyway if you'd wait for one. They never had the damn things in stock, so how many sales would they really lose? They had no issue announcing a Countdown and enjoying the marketing hype. If they then said not a new processor during this time, so people purchased the Ultra, that is simply F'd up. But those are big ifs. Someone can say they called and were told that, but I find it hard to believe.

That's it that's all. The countdown ended up being a retroactive slap in the face to those who purchased right before or during its respective countdown... I'm neither here nor there. I'm an Axe lover, not a hater, and I watched carefully WTF was happening at the strike of midnight and dumped my 2 month old Ultra for full pop - no sweat for me. And I have zero problems waiting for the II. But man, to tease and provoke the masses with this countdown, whatever, I said it dozens of times before here and on the FA Forum, it was a recipe for disaster for some.

Onwards, upwards.

There is no one thinking that there Ultra or Standard does not sound great anymore.
They are just gassing for the new more feature rich unit.
Tooob guys are always having amps modded and all sorts of crap to try and make them sound better etc...
I hear amps in clubs sound like shit all the time and the same with digital gear. Also hear both sound awesome other times. Comes down to the players ears and chops.
It is not an either or thing guys. I own some of the best amps ever and also the Ultra. The Ultra hangs with any of them. Period. And is an all in one wonder machine. This won't and hasn't changed.
I will be buying an Axe Fx2 also because i can and I want the latest shit that Cliff at Fractal puts out.
I don't have to sell gear to fund it and my Ultra is going nowhere. It will always sound awesome.
I love normal amps(I will be getting the new PT100 when it comes out) but it is not an either or thing. Different flavors and colors bitches. Most who hate just don't got the cash
or are simpletons. Expand your horizons earthworms

You lost all credibility with your last 3 sentences, now crawl back into Cliff´s butthole.

Sure it's fucked up. But that's business. Poor business practices isn't the same as illegal. The countdown was definitely in poor taste, but that sounds like it's par for the course with Fractal.

Tis fun, indeed. :2thumbsup:

Oh dude...it's better than fun :D

I do feel badly for anyone who JUST spent 2k on an Ultra, but to watch the race to sell the newly obsolete units :D is nothing less than hysterical.

I'm waiting for people to start advertising free blow jobs if you purchase THEIR Ultra

People act as though they've never lost a dime on the purchase of NEW gear....gotta admit, I'm a little confused by my fellow Axe owners :D
