My einstein just literally exploded, while i was playing, first the Master 2 led started blinking between off and a yellow light?!? and the sound was off.

Then started a plastic burning smell and a bang. By that time I was able to reach the amp and shut it off.

I tried to turn it on again, and all the channel and master switching controls worked, except there was no sound.

Today I was able to remove the chassis, to check the tubes and found a burned resistor on the bottom of the chassis, one of the boards was burned were I suspect the resistor was placed.

Bellow are some pics I took:

Can anyone please help? Is there an authorized Diezel Tech in Portugal? How can I get it fixed?

Thanks guys.

Clean the board and replace this resistor R124 with
a 4,7kilo ohm 5 watt type.

Replace the preamp tubes. One is the reason to get
this mess.

Remove and cut the two diodes and the blue
cap beside R68. They are broken and make a
short.

Finally contact me at peterdiezel (at) diezelamplification (dot) com
if there are further questions.

Hi Peter, thanks a lot for your prompt help, I just need the blue cap and the diodes specs please (i can´t reed what's printed on them).

Thanks.

Not to be a "but-in-ski", but damn what service this is! Nowhere on a public forum can you get this sort of assistance.

Just remove the diodes and the cap. It´s for
countries with inconsistant main voltage.

If You really want to replace them, just replace
the diodes D16 and D17 with a 200 volt / 2 watt
type similar to the 1N5388.
The + mark / ring should be set in with direction
to R125.

On R125 there is a wire instead of a resistor.
Please use a 10 kilo ohm / 2 watt resistor
to replace the wire set in for R125.

No more blue cap.

Thanks,
Peter
