I am eating all lines from this forum, watching all the videos on the internet and colecting all the info I can to make my mind.
I see, most of you, talking about tubes, speakers and fine tunning your sound and I am wondering wich Diezel amp will be the best for me.
I am from Brazil and high end gear are very difficul and almost impossible to see some brand around here. So, I got this Diezel fever, even without never seeing one in front of me, don't ask me who that can be, but I am pretty sure that this GAS is universal...lol
I have a Bogner Shiva 20th anni and is an amazing amp, but from the infor I am getting the Diezel would be more what I am looking for.
I also have a Bogner OS 2x12 cabinet and a PRS Modern Eagle I, and those are keeprs for me. I love metal, but what I really play is rock and hard rock so I don't need a brutal amp. I'd like to get a VH4, but I think the einstein is more the kind of amp that I really need. I grow up using one channel amps, so What I need is to get a "clean" channel that I like and use some pedals to adjust the gains and levels during a set. so, that's why the einstein looks perfect for me. If I can get a clean to crunch sound in one moment and another a high gain fluid kind of sound for leads it will be perfect.
anyway, I mentioned a question on the title, but I think I am just sharing my thoughts with you, but feel welcome to give me any kind of input you may have.

sounds like you know what you want. u will love the Einstein!

do you think I realy know? lol
on the specs, the Einstein is perfect, I am considering buying a combo. anyway, I just can't decide...lol.

Einstein

I got to play a combo a couple of years ago if was to buy a combo that would be it.

Hmm... well I have a bandmate who plays a VH4S, but I wouldn't trade my Einstein for it! From what you describe, I think I would go with the Einstein. If you know just a LITTLE about electronics, I think you will want to mod it eventually. You can make the 3 modes on channel 1 switchable very easily.

Or you could just put it in mode 2 and play with your PRS' AWESOME volume controls. That will get you a great clean and back to crunch just by turning the knob!

Or you could always try pedals.. But honestly, I have never heard a distortion pedal sound better than my amp's distortion. ;)

I got a 100w Einstein 6 weeks ago. It is awesome for the stuff you want to play, the clean sound is crystal, and the texas mode is one of the absolute best crunch sounds i ve ever heard period. BTW the lead channel can definitely do metal, it can bring the walls down. Really great amp, i just cant put my guitar down. I would go with head and cab though, it allows for more versatility in the future as you can play around with different cabs.

Einstein will give you the gain levels you want over the 2 channels.

If you are wanting to use pedals to add gain I can tell you the Einstein is not the amp for that, it takes to boosts rather nicely but I'm yet to find a od or dist pedal that adds any mojo to the clean channel, it all just ends up sounding like a harsh distortion(Think bees in cans) rather than the standard silky drive the amp produces. Many of the other guys here have found the same thing, its not big deal as the standard gain on tap from Einy is easily enough to cover any style and sounds epic to boot.

Just thought you need to be aware of Einy reluctance to play ball with distortion pedals.

Pete.

Honestly, if you're just looking for a pedal platform, you're wasting your money on the Diezel.

The whole reason I BOUGHT a Diezel was to avoid pedals

Einstein is a wonderful amp! You don't need pedals for distortion with it. With the mod to the first channel, you can switch between all three modes and then still have more on tap with channel 2. IT is a great setup! I have an awesome custom switching pedal available along with the mod jack and wiring for someone who wants a great solution.

For me though, I'm graduating to a brand new Herbert very shortly. I want that mid cut and the three separate channels.

Can't wait!
:)

"Please leave all Pedals at the door..........."
Welcome to Diezel land!

thanx for all your posts.
as I mentioned before, I've never seen a Diezel amp in front of me, so I never played one either. The reason I use pedals is just because I've never found an amp wich can give me a fluid high gain solo sound channel and a nice crunch at the same time. so maybe I can have this with the diezels. I would be very happy to have that, really.
for example on my bogner I can have a chanel with the best clean ever (wich I never use) and the ultimate crunch sound on the other chanel, but there's no way I can get the fluid high gain sound I mentioned before, so I need to cheat...lol
if the einstein is everything you are telling me I'd be very happy with it, otherwise I will sell it and get the VH4...lol
about this mod on the chanel 2... does it change anything in the sound of the amp, I mean, to be able to switch witha foot controler the 3 modes einstein have?

The mod makes the 3 modes on channel 1 foot switchable. I got the mod on my Einstein and purchased a custom pedal made by switch doctor which allows me to switch between all 3 modes on channel 1 or switch to channel 2 or to the 2nd master volume good for a solo boost if need although channel 2 has its own volume control and is the amps natural solo channel. I also own about 6 or 7 dist./OD pedals which I bought before my Diezel and I have honestly only tried one which didnt sound good by the way because the Diezel sounds so good you dont want to polute its great sound with a pedal. I do run a little chorus on the clean channel in certain situation or a little delay and wah but thats it. I have used my Einstein for over 30 or 40 gigs and have absolutely loved it!

The mod is vey easy to do and it doesn't interefere at all with the actual circuit, you just access the functions of the front panel switch with a remote footswitch.
But... You won't be able to use it as a 4 channel amp without some other tweaking because the clean (mode 1) is MUCH louder then the other modes.
The workarounds are:
- Use a MultiFX in the serial loop, and program individual patches with different levels. A GMajor works great because it also has the 2 relay switches, so you can also program the modes switching. A G System is even better, because it has 4 relay switches so you can access and program all the functions of the amp.
- Use a Midi controled switcher, with 4 relays. You can then assign Master Volume one to Clean, and Master Volume 2 to all the other modes, and program the switcher to automaticaly change master volumes for each mode.

You can check out a quick demo of a similar setup that I've done, and also feel free to ask any questions.

Yes the clean mode on channel 1 is louder than the other channels. The band I currently play in only plays 3 songs where I have to switch from clean to dirty and I have to adjust my pick attack or use the guitar volume knob to compensate for the volume difference. From everything I have read and heard the midi setup is the way to go if you can go that route. I am just making due with what I have to work with and it works for me!

Have you tried this one http://www.mpamp.com/pedal/pedals-sbo.htm
Mad professor Sky Blue overdrive. Sounds absolutely great with the einstein.

Hmm, interesting indeed as my local shop just got a few Mad Prof pedals in and I promised to cart the Einy to the shop so the guys there can give it a sound test. You guys should have seen the eyebrows raise when I said I wasn't interested in the Laneys and Carlsbro they sell as I have a Diezel  I was then practically begged to bring it in for testing!

This setup looks really cool, nice demo by the way. Unfortunately it will have to wait since i just bought my amp and cab a little over a month ago.
BTW MadProfessor are awesome pedals, high quality stuff.

I hope they let you leave the store with your amp, it will blow them away :D
