Dang Drew sounding really nice man. Tone and licks! What I wouldn't give to be in front of that rig cranked up minus the power soak. What head you rocking there? BADASS!
That’s the Ceriatone Plexi50 wired to ‘68 specs; split cathode, lead tonestack, soft filtering. hahahah the Fryette let’s me dime it in my apartment and when it’s out of my apartment, go from 50 watts to 100, ya know, because a 50 watt Plexi isn’t loud enough.
I wish I could keep this amp dimed all the time, but I lose too much versatility in the process. If I could roll back the volume and have it actually clean up it’d be a different story, but even without the Hot Mod installed this thing can breath some fire when it’s dimed-
The clean tone is too damn good to let go of. Even for this chugga chugga head.
I picked up the Hendrix FF a couple months back, I’m going to snag the Bonamossa just to complete the sig Fuzz Faces but I’m really anxious to start making my own. They’re definitely not my go-to sound either, really they’re kinda the opposite of what I tend to go for in how they feel to play, but I love the sound of them so damn much.
I don’t even write or play music that uses these kinds of tones yet, I just love them so much it seemed silly to not play with them myself. Eventually I’ll start writing stuff to utilize these kinds of tones, I’m still shaking off some chugga chugga kid stuff I suppose.
Did an impromptu run through the fuzzes I have. Started with the Burnley, not technically a fuzz but when you’re on the v1. setting it’s about as wild and crazy a pedal I’ve ever tried. It’s chaos and I dig it.
Burnley v2….Catalinbread Karma Sutre….EHX Lizard King….Behringer SF300 (Super Fuzz)….TC Eyemaster (HM2 copy). I didn’t experiment with wah position as they’re all in a rack drawer and I can’t be bothered moving the cables, so wah is always first in line.
