ada mp2 problem

hey i have ada mp2 that bought from somebody before 2 month. everything was good and worked ok until some problem the the ADA stop working and show me this messege


and it's stuck. when i tried to power off and onn again i saw in the first line of the screen black squres and when i tried to off and onn again it's do the same square. after couple of houers i tried to power onn the ADA and it's going well and working fine, but after couple of houers it's do it again.
every day was the same like 1 month.

what happen?? any one know this problem?

sounds like it's a heat related problem. i used to do electronics work back 20 years ago and i ran into problems like that in various gear. mouser electronics (or similar parts store) sells some freeze spray that you can use to test for problems fairly cheaply. the process is pretty simple: turn the equipment on and wait until it locks up, then spray the freeze spray at electronics components like IC's and transistors (first) and watch to see when the display acts right again. once you find the right component, it's easy to try to the experiment again and make sure it's the correct component. once you are sure, then replace the bad part.

it could be bad solder too. i would spend some time soldering everything that looks bad first. maybe try poking around or tapping on the pcb with a pencil eraser to see if you can get the problem to stop when the right area is poked?

once you get the preamp back up and running, i would suggest doing all of the Hairston mods that you can find using google. i had the mp2 and did all of the mods and it did quiet down the unit some. many of the capacitors are dried up and need replacement.

Battery could be bad, try replacing that first.

really? battery? i check the pcb board and i tried to replace the tube, everything look ok.
i will try to change the battery and i will update
