I can’t say I’ve ever broken a sweat playing guitar around the house. For me it’s mostly skin from my picking hand.
I might give it a good clean when I change strings, but I find it pointless to keep guitars clean unless they are showpieces

I just wipe mine down after playing... I mistakenly used some Lizzard Spit on my aged tele and that was a mistake... so now I just use a microfiber cloth... the only ones I use polish on are my Xotic, Martin and Taylor.
