Just thought it was odd that he posted that vid and the statement that "this is what started it all for me in" in a thread essentially about hot female rockers

  Yeah... I think we got sidetracked with the whole 80s thing in general.

On that note... I just finished a very LOUD several hours in the man cave, playing my Anderson Classic into my Smallbox... along with a bunch of 80s stuff through my PA.

Started with old VH (Vh1-Fair Warning), then Saxon (Innocence Is No Excuse), then some Armored Saint (Can U Deliver, Seducer, Stricken By Fate, You're Never Alone), then Loudness (Let It Go, Wok & Woll Crazy Nights), then cooled it way down with some much later era Gary Moore (I Have Found My Love In You).

Always feels so damn good to have a good flashback to the good ole days playing loud through gear that kicks the hell out of anything we ever had back in the day. In that respect, the good ole days are NOW.

Saw this video when I was a Freshman in high school and fell in love with Lita. :) Still her best song in my opinion.

Definitely one of my faves, and probably my first exposure to Lita as a solo artist.

My absolute favorite Lita song has always been "Under The Gun". It's a great tune to just jam along with and play ripping leads over.

In regards to my attraction to Lita... I think it's because she's always had that neighborhood tramp thing going-on that made me think she'd be game for anything and fun to hang with.

Got my YouTube favorites playing and just had to post this, cause it also brings it all back. Bands could actually play before Grunge and alt-rock bullshit took over.

Seriously, I tune into ACL every Saturday night for the rare great act, and it seems like it's Jeff Tweedy style hacked-up crap being worshiped most of the time. WTF???

Doug Marks from Metal Method .....been meaning to try that for 35 years ...

I've seen those ads forever. I wonder how good it is? I've never had lessons but I'd love to have this Frank Gambale video. It was like an aerobic exercise video but for guitar. It was uploaded for a short while on youtube but taken down. I cannot find it on dvd, just crazy overpriced, well beyond used, vhs tapes. I can't tell you the last time I dug out a vcr......

Lita was hot to me back in the days.

Metal Method on cassette and paperback all the way....

we didn't have no stinking video's, had to actually use our EAR instead of our eyes....

Those are dudes........with long hair

It was the 80s man! By the end of the decade we couldn't tell the doods from the chicks any more. I remember the first time I saw the first Poison album (from a distance... errrr... maybe without my glasses too)... I was like "hubba hubba". WTF???

P.S. I'll have it known that despite playing out in bands from '85 on and having long, permed hair... I never freakin ONCE applied any makeup.

Just thought it was odd that he posted that vid and the statement that "this got me started in 1982" in a thread essentially about hot female rockers

"Ahh those were the days" is the thread title not "Hot chicks of da 80's".

Its about the music man ...

I'll be fine if i never hear a Lita song again to be honest.

A buddy gave me this Vinnie Moore lesson video in 1989', it was cool and i picked up some licks but his playing kinda blew me away.

latest

I also at one point had a Vinnie Moore sig Ibanez, killer guitars.

LOVE "Gotta Let Go". That and "Larger Than Life" are my Lita faves.

How about this one for another EARLY 80's track???

I think it was the best time in music because of the combination of good time social scene mixed with virtuosity. Song writing was great also. I was too young at the time to really experience it, wish I could have. It was about excess and it capitalized on the things that made you happy. The grunge era was the opposite, focusing on the drab, depressing, and bleak. 80's metal continues to be the genre I spin the most. I believe music should be mostly entertaining and fun as I prefer to feel better after listening to music, not worse.

-the best thing about the 80's was the "scene",.. all the clubs would be packed,.. It was electric,... the smell of powder fog machines, cigarette's & weed coming from the men's room filled the air,.... If ya had an 8-ball you could spend the name night in the ladies room, but ya did so much, that ya had coke dick and couldn't capitalize on your situation,.. it was a happening,.. ya had to be there,... If you weren't you felt like you were missing out,.. then your friends would add salt to the wound by all the stories and shit that ya missed out on..

-but the 80's had the hottest bitches of any generation bar none, the only thing that comes close now is Halloween,.. Cuz the chick's use it as an excuse to dress like the secret slut they are/wanna be,... 6" stilettos, garters, stockings, mini skirts tight shirts with lots of cleavage,.. Ohh and I hear they had big hair..

I liked this one back in the day...

I was first exposed to this song via the Hit Parader cassette (the wild bunch I think it was called), then started buying the Kerrang mags that always featured her.

Exactly!!! The 80s was a PARTY (and I didn't even drink or do drugs). The 90s was the hangover from the 80s, or a friggin FUNERAL!!!

I dig AIC, Soundgarden, STP, Pearl Jam, etc. But seriously... it was like funeral dirge music and scene compared to the rip-roaring party that was the 80s. If the 80s was like night on coke, the 90s was like a heroin overdose. There was such a damn stark contrast between the decades and most those who were old enough to really experience both decades seem to prefer the 80s to the 90s. Seriously... who thinks back with fond memories of that special hangover or funeral they went through???

And in regards to the chick scene during both eras... the 80s chicks were all dolled-up for a party. Big hair, heels, black leather bustiers, etc. Think Tawny Kitaen gyrating on the hood of David Coverdale's car. Or a thousand other videos with smokin' hot chicks that got many of us guys wanting to play guitar in a band, and many of us discovered that we wanted to be good musicians along the way. What hot dolled-up chick scenes from the 90s stand-out?

Also, it whereas it was so cool to be a smokin guitar player in the 80s, the 90s made it totally uncool to show that you were a decent musician within your music. It was like re-hash of the punk thing. The more you suck and the angrier you sound, the better. Hmmm... now that I think about it... seems like we've been stuck in the 90s for going-on 30 years.
