Well it's completely different because their entire band is based on the costume gimmick

Manowar, Maiden, and black metal bands have costumes or stagewear that is supposed to enhance their music and storytelling, whereas the modern bands it's the other way around; the music is just a background noise to the costumes and imagery.

Pretending it's the same thing is just dumb, lazy thinking, and trying to avoid the "why" question. And also conveniently avoiding the fact that no one in the "actual metal" scene, meaning I'm not talking about "modern metal", but legitimate metal can get a record deal or any amount of success without dressing in outlandish costumes or having a broad with an OF in their band.
