Welcome Jeff! Your videos of the Alchemist were great and your playing was very very good too. Hope you hang around. We have a gret little community here.

Hey - thanks! I tried to do some 'humbucker' video today, but my Les Paul-esque guitar (Yamaha SBG500) just doesn't feel that good in my hands. I'm at a point where I just need to admit I'm a 'Fender guy' and live with it! ;)

I've lurked around a few forums lately since the Alchemist has been rumored / released, so I figured I would join the ones that looked like they would be fun to participate in. Thanks for the welcome!

yeah know I only care about the tempo on delay being locked to the beat when I record, I mean...I used to use a memory man or a space echo, so even though a tap tempo on the fs would be convient I think Alchy sounds hip enough to overlook this.

I agree, and I guess I came off sounding like I was condeming the entire amp when actually I was only complaining about ONE feature, the delay tap function with no FS access. I actually think it's a cool amp and I really dug the tone in Bob's clip.

I've always just dialed in a delay setting and used it all night. I've never used the whole tap tempo thing, BUT I do realize damn near everyone else loves that feature!

It drives me nuts when the delay isn't the same as the tempo - I had an Ibanez AD-80, which IMHO is one of THE best sounding analog delays. Couldn't deal with the lack of tap tempo though. :(

I guess what makes it frustrating to me is that it would have been really easy to add this to the amp, and I was seriously considering one as a cheap gig amp that, if it had the tap, would have had me just bringing a volume pedal to boost the volumes for leads and of course the amp footswitch. Oh well, maybe in the V.2 Alchemist!

yup,

need to keep the delay in time for me. I love delay, use it alot, but since delay is rythmic, most of the uses for me needs to be in synch, otherwise its like having a drummer play some of his kit off time. It would almost be a deal killer for me, since the alchemist would be a backup amp intended on me not bringing any of my other efx, for plug and play quickness you know.

Pete, I am sure you can figure out how to mod the footswitch to include tap tempo :D
