My Stiletto blew up at practice a few weeks ago. The footswitch cable was knocked a little loose, and when I pushed it in, it popped the fuse. I just switched to the Verellen Skyhammer and didn't even feel bad about it.

I finally got some fuses (I thought I had some, but it didn't) and I tested it out last night and it rips. How does shorting the footswitch jack blow the fuse? Is that really what did it?

Mine too.

The footswtich is directly tied the the +12V buss. The first relays that short would be the Solo and Channel switching relays. So, shorting the footswitch simultaneously triggers a bunch of mode relays, the solo boost, and engages both channels at once, as well as short-circuiting the +12V power supply...So, yeah, that might blow the fuse.

That's what I figured. It was my fault it blew, and it seems fine now. I was a little worried about it, but hopefully it's okay now.

Similar thing happened to me with a Bogner Shiva, during band practice, when the jack on my SG got a lil loose. Dunno why it happened, but I'm glad it did!
I switched over to the bass players drip edge Bassman, turned it up to 4-5 on the normal channel and hit it with a Tube Screamer.

The Shiva was sold within a week.
The Bassman sounded so much better.
Went out and bought a Bassman of my own.

My Stiletto was temperamental as well. I blew a fuse switching it on an amp switcher, and once when changing channels.

My stiletto is def temperamental. It doesn't want to fully spring open unless it is oiled and adjusted perfectly. Not sure why so many states banned them as they are just as likely to fail to open before you get the chance to stick someone with it. But they are cool as hell when they are working right.

Haven’t had any issues with my Stiletto Stage I so far - hopefully it lasts…. It is pretty damn touchy in terms of the dials, but once you get it dialled in it does sound really good

The stiletto was the first tube amp I ever purchased. And I had something similar happen to it the first day I owned it. Went right back into a tech for repair. Then it got stolen. The thing was cursed. But fun to play.
