Hey all,

I was wondering for those who've either played or owned both, are there any major differences between Mark Cameron's Aldrich modded Marshalls vs. the Cameron Amps Old Bitch (based off the Aldrich mod)? How do they compare tonally?

Is there any tonal overlap with the CCV-100 (which I already own)?

Mods, forgive me for posting here as this thread would've gone ignored elsewhere.

Thanks,
Nick

I can say no overlap with a CCV. Aldrich 4 gain stages no cathode follower. CCV is Jose 3 gain stages cathode follower, diode clipping and different circuit values. A few Aldrich's have diode clipping but the amp does not rely on it for it's distortion like a Jose. The Aldrich is brighter and more cutting. Jose is a big club, Aldrich a razor.

Good description Gary.

How would you classify the Friedman BE in this comparison/contrast?

I have never played a Friedman other than a 1980 JMP100 Kitchen Sink I owned for a week awhile back.

I've had a couple Friedman modded Marshalls. Great amps. But the Cameron's have a kind of Mesa-ish quality to them that's really cool. At least the Aldrich modded Marshalls do. Its like taking a great Marshall and melting it with a scooped eq Mark series. IMO.

Thats what I've been chasing all along.
