I've owned two Andersons and played a Suhr Pro Series. I liked the Andersons more, but I really want to play a Suhr Standard.

i am an artist for both companies, and both are fantastic. with that said anderson doesnt offer 24 fret model so if thats your flavor a modern is in your future

I've played several of both companies guitars and owned one Anderson. Both companies offer great instruments that sound fantastic to my ears. Even the ones that didn't have a tone that I normally dig still managed to sound pleasing to my ears if you can understand that. They weren't my favorites, but they still sounded good.
That being said, my preference is Anderson. Tom's guitars to me are more bold while the Suhrs are a little more easy going. Even the ones with high output pickups like Aldrichs. A lot of people say Andersons are more modern sounding while Suhrs are more vintage sounding. That's a bit too general in my opinion but, it's also similar to how I feel.
Also, Tom's pickups are MAGICAL to my ears. My favorite pickups being made.
Both companies have so many options though that I don't think you can really go wrong either way.

+1 All the Andersons I've ever heard always have a real distinct sound to them that I love. I put an H1 in my strat recently and it's sweet but I've really been gassing for a drop top lately!

I have owned an Andeson and played a few Suhrs. I think they are very similar in quality. But as other have said, I love Tom Anderson pickup. I have ended up puting Anderson pickup in almost every other guitar I bough. Regarding Suhr vs. Anderson... the prices are similar, the options are similar, though Anderson seems to have a broader line of body styles than Suhr. All new Andersons have a two-bolt neck vs. four-bolt for Suhr (some with plate, others like the Modern directly through the wood). Both have Buzz Feiten tuning systems.
I will go out on a limb and say that (lately) I've seen a lot more Suhr's with AMAZING quilt/flame maple tops than Anderson. Anderson has, however, generally better top colors in my eyes. But man, some of the Suhr finishes I've seen the past couple weeks are just awesome... even on the Pro series!
Anderson also offers a chambered body on the Drop Top and Cobra series, which I don't think is an option for Suhr... but I could be wrong.
You can get the Switcheroo system on Andersons (this is purely a preference thing... I personally wouldn't want it).
Anderson obviously doesn't have a "budget" line of guitars. The great thing about Suhr is you can get a handmade instrument by one of the best builders in the world for the same price as some of the more well known brands. I really think John Suhr is doing the guitar industry a great service by offering up something with great workmanship that's affordable for working musicians.

Both make flawless guitars. I've owned a few Andersons and 1 Suhr but i have played a bunch of Suhr's. Anderson makes guitars that sound better to my ears.
Robotechnology owns a Mahoganey bodied Drop Top, hardtail. And tonewise, it smokes most any Superstrat I've heard. The bastard won't sell it to me but i won't give up.
