Another Custom Guitar in the works! Pittman Guitars

So I have been talking with my man Paul who is an amazing guitar builder/finisher and looks like "yours truly" will be taking possession of a new Pittman Custom Guitar in the next 5 months or so. We are wrapping up the details but it's going to be pretty darned awesome I think!

What we've landed on:
• African Mahogany body w/Cocobolo top
• Arcane bridge humbucker (some Alnico 8, 13.2k output joint that splits well)
• Arcane P90 in the neck
• Wilkinson VSV bridge
• Potentially some type of binding ("He'll see what the wood says...")
• Gold Hardware

To be determined:
• Neck is TBD until we get more pics from his wood guys but likely will be African Mahogany as well
• Fretboard will most likely be Cocobolo

Body will be more modern strat with flat top and minimal roundover on the back.

Yeah man he builds some killer stuff I had only seen his pics up til NAMM but he sent a guitar to a guy that was showing there for me to check it was amazing. Really excited between this and my Semi Cistom Balaguer.

The Pittman is 100% hand built. No CNC. Don’t get me wrong, I have ZERO issue with CNC guitar. I own plenty but I feel it’s worth mentioning.

Yeah the top wood is insanely cool. I was holding out for some pics of Macassar Ebony but it was gonna be another couple weeks before Hearne could get him some pics. He’s been sending me pics but as he kept reminding me, these were all for sale and the longer I held out, the likelihood I may lose a piece that I liked. Saw some other African Mahogany, Sapele and Black Limba for the body and different Cocobolo and Macassar for the tops but nothing that made my pants feel funny. Then he sends me these guys and I was like “GRAB ‘EM!!!”

Thanks! The neck wood is coming from the same log as the body. Should see some fretboards in the next week or so.

Arcane custom wound pickups are ordered and hardware will be ordered Monday. Trying to decide between gold and nickel. Only concern with the gold is “shelf life”. It goes ugly quicker.

It’s actually an S-style guitar. The wood vendors use templates for potential buyers to see where bodies will work.

He is an interesting but good guy to work with. He says he has some ideas to really make the guitar pop but won’t tell me anything til all the wood is in.
