I thought it was the other way around.... Damn I went ass backwards then. I thought the PI was farthest and number 4....

Coffee and pills. They put me on a new one cause I flipped out the other day…lol.. I almost killed my wife’s friend in the gas station parking lot with my bare hands…. I had no idea who it was till she got out of the car…. Could have been 10 people in that mofo…I didn’t care, I was going in…fuck…
 
Shielded the top of the cabinet…it helped but there’s still a hum just not as bad. However my new speaker cable is apparently bad. Keeps shorting out. Stuck an instrument cable in there in the meantime. Going to check it in a little bit. Then swap pre’s again except in the correct order, then I’ll try another pair of tubes… this has been irritating but interesting all at once.

Bad idea. Instrument cables are shielded, easy to burn out an output transformer.
There is a chance you already did with a bad speaker cable.

well i can hit it and it works...then it cuts out...blahblahblah....any suggestions at this point? Jiggle tubes, jiggle speaker cable....static, cuts in and out....tried another set of power tubes also....and even another cab...the ground problem went away on the two right side chassis screws after adding the foil shielding. Even checked my cables....I'm completely stumped....

reflow the board the tube sockets are sitting on
