I'm probably gonna get one this or next week but I'm also seriously considering getting a custom 2x12 made by http://www.zillacabs.com/. The Super Fatboy (basically Bogner OS212 dimensions) with two G12Hs really appeals to me. Bigger cab, more thump, etc. Prices are similar.

Anybody have the EVH 2x12 wanna tell me about it?

That Super Fatboy sounds great. I love my Bogner OS. I would love to hear a clip of your rig.

Are you going to use it w/ the 50w EVH? If so, you probably already know that the EVH 2x12 has the cool feature of locking it on top and has tilt back legs. I've heard good things about the tone of the cab but I don't usually go off of someone else's interpretation.

I have had an ivory one on order for about a month now from Sweetwater. I got them to accept the 15% Musicians Friend discount along with free shipping (and no tax unlike GC).

I ordered one from Guitar Center a few weeks ago to use with my EVH 100 watt. Still waiting. I've been using a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab with it for about a year now for smaller shows. Sounds pretty good. Not as good as my EVH 4x12 but my back likes it better.

Sometimes these oversized 2x12s arent much smaller than the 412.

I have the Zilla Fatboy. Cant say enough good stuff about it and also discussing with Paul what i wanted. They way i look at it is that you may as well pay a little more (or in your case the same) and get exactly what you want.

They are really high quality and he can make anything you want. I woudl go for Zilla. Hand made to your exact specs. Its a no brainer really.

May as well speak to them direct as well.

I just got my machining ivory EVH 2x12 last Thursday. It sounds fantastic with the mini head. The speakers are still breaking in but it has lots of nice bottom end, growl and clarity. I really like it and am lucky to have gotten one so quickly.

The locking head mechanism and tilt back legs are a bonus if anything.

It's a lot deeper sounding than the Mesa 2x12 and Diezel 2x12 I have had in the past couple of years.

I would go for the zilla if you want to spend the extra coin and dont mind having the tilt back feature. I would still put the evh speakers in that bad boy.

define deeper/....

I am wondering this myself. I generally prefer OS 2x12s with a convertible back option, but if the EVH 2x12 is as good for the price being under $500, then I will pull the trigger on it.

Any new feedback or experiences with this cab?

ENGL Pro is a killer 2x12 and of course Bogner oversize

I love mine. Got 2 of them black and Ivory. It sounds great with 50 watt and my 100 watt EVH's. I think both the 50 watt and 100 watters sound the best with the matching cabs. Just my opinion. Buy one from somewhere with a good return policy. If you don't like it send that bad boy back.

Did you use the tilt back feature on the 2x12?

Is it directional, or does it fill a room of 300 nicely? I'm used to larger 2x12s and also prefer a convertible back, due to the variety of tunes we play.

Thanks!

Haven't gigged with the 50 watt and 2x12 yet or had it up to practice volumes yet just house volume. I've only gigged with the 2x12's and my 100 watt which sounded great. I've used the tilt feature at the house though and it is really cool.

Cool! I'm also looking at a Dr. Z Z Best Cab with the Celestion V30/G12H 30 Anniversary mix.

Yes. Just don't go crazy with the volume.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of using it with either my Diezel VH4 or Friedman BE-100.

Did you ever try the EVH 2x12 with your BE-100? I am curious if you liked it.
