The Gain channel was not terrible but nothing special either. The clean channel wasactually very nice. Excellent breakup and ultra loud. Cheers, Lucius

For some reason I can't seem to embed your vid either
Cool playing though!

I should mention that mine is modded by Voodoo Mods...Perhaps that helps? :)

Of all the amps that have come and gone outta my place...The Blue Voodoo has always stayed...Always a full stack too...EL34s and all the gain you could ever want from the preamp tubes...

When I compare it to my others I can hear the fizz that bothers me after awhile but I often expect it to suck when I plug in and am usually am quite happy with both the clean and crunch...

Anyone else?
I tried them when they first came out, and didn't care for it at all. That may be why I never bothered trying any of their newer versions.

Hated the buzzsaw bv120, modified it into a bogner Then it rocked.

The frequency center for the high knob was 10k, so was the prescence knob!

I think the Blue Voodoo line deserves more credit than people give them. I have 2 of them. I have the 120Watt, as well as the 150Watt. I sold my Marshall DSL 100 for the BV120H years ago, because I preferred the sound. I don't think you can beat the sound to price ratio. I'm running them through the Crate 4x12 with the Vintage 30's. Great overall sound. I've been using them for almost 15 years, and I'd never get rid of them. I've also never had any problems with them besides regular maintance (tubes, etc).

The fact that this was necro-bumped by "Zombify" is pretty funny
Hope he doesn't zombify any other thread though...

Just joined the board today, was looking around and found this thread, and though I'd give my 2 cents. I think the only other amp I personally would consider getting is the Laney TI100.

Owned one for 3 years. The moment the kid that bought it left my house was the happiest moment of my life lol. Fuck that amp.

Had to play through one at a gig once when my amp blew a fuse, and I'd forgotten to bring spares. One the worst tones I've ever plaed through. To each his own.

Oh God, I'll never forget that night. I literally could not hear you AT ALL. But I sounded awesome with my DSL.

But yeah, based on that gig I've always thought those amps are complete junk.

Black metal guys love them because of the chainsaw fizz ugliness. Same way that death/grindcore guys love those Ampeg ss 150's/Crate GTX130C/Randall Century/etc. The BV isn't Solid State but in the same way, it seems to be custom designed for a certain kind of purposefully ugly sound.

I have A 120h Blue with Bold Gold with the matching cabinet with the Eminence speakers.
I also have a Crate VC 5212, Fender Red Knob The Twin, Laney VC 50.
I like the amp myself. The Key to this amp is cutting back on the tone controls!
Are there better amps?? sure! but for the money this is a great deal.
I use a Gibson Les Paul, Gibson ES 347 and a Fender Squire Strat. If I switch from the Start to the ES347 then I would need to adjust the tone controls, But each guitar sounds great through the amp. I use a Sonic Maximizer, Vox Wha, Boss dd3, Ibanez Flange, Boss dd6, Boss Tremolo pan. I like all of my amps, present and most of those from the past.

I think a Trace mod-& your playing- would improve most amps

Still have one in the corner as a spare. I gotta tell ya, paired with a BV cab with 70/80s it sounds pretty good. My ol Carvin will eat it alive but it's a warhorse if needed, it will do the job.
