Where did all the amps go?

I remember when Ratt was playing those for a short time in the 80's or at least had them on stage, I thought they sounded good. I've never played one in person though.
The amp has potential. Big bottom, kind of a fizzy kind of pre amp distortion. Kind of like an ADA with a bigger low end.

One ounce of gold would buy me a Les Paul Custom, this purchase would have been a few ounces of silver.

Crazy how if you bought one ounce of gold in 2023, you could now buy 2 JVM410 heads and keep an extra $700 change. If you bought the JVM in 2023, not even one ounce was enough.

It's the dollar going down in value due to inflation, not the gold being more valuable.

In two more years an ounce of gold will buy me two Les Paul Customs.

At the beginning of the pandemic, people were hired to pretty much buy every piece of used gear on Craigslist and marketplace and all that. Pretty soon as all the good stuff got bought, these brokers and expediters turned to buying even bottom of the barrel stuff. By late 2020 even used Squiers were selling for more than new. These things were being bought up by people who had no need for selling them for any price and jist got boarded. This was a time when there was so much upward wealth transfer that beach houses in Hawaii went dark. The new owners were so rich that they didn’t even need to rent them out on air b&b. A few of these containers holding gear showed up in the news as the owner had never shipped them out and the shipping containers were damaged and the contents showing. PILES of amp heads, low tier condenser mics, tons of squire guitars and similar, most damaged from the sea air, heat and weather. Mind blowing. I don’t usually get into the wealth inequality debate stuff, but this is one of those times when the ability to destroy a market completely because you have money you don’t need to worry about was eye opening. Pre pandemic you could buy a brand new Dean Vendetta XM, a 24 fret, 2 humbucker, very well built guitar for 100 dollars. Now? There’s some deals but nothing like that!

in terms of music gear, there really isn't anything I'm GASing for. I've been on a buying/selling spree for the last 3-4 years as I planned early retirement (2025)...which slowed down to almost nothing in 2026 - sold a few things, bought even fewer things. Sold my Helix and got a Fractal VP4; finally got a second Mesa compact 2x12 that was on backorder for months; and Roland GK-5 pickup and D/A box.

At this point for new gear, I'll keep upgrading software I like; maybe another EBMM Majesty 6 or Kaizen 6 if I see a color I like. For keyboards, I have what I want for synths, pianos and organs; I have the latest / current generation Roland Fantom EX and Yamaha Montage workstations; I'll probably get the next gen Fantom when it comes out.

Set on cars now too, with my 2026 Corvette, and my third custom chopper. Couple of old boats to sell/trade, and plan to get a new(er) fishing boat this year; traveling to Japan later this year for about a month...the toys/hobbies should be sorted and settled down by the end of 2026.

I didn't read the rest of the thread, but the Dallas Facebook marketplace still has all that shit on it. I could put together a complete gig worthy rig for $1000 right now if I needed to. Could easily score a cheap Les Paul Studio, a DSL combo, and a few pedals...

How are you this fucking stupid? The pedals aren't great but it clearly says they're included.
Funny you quoted faster than i can pull it you tell me who's wrong dumbass.
BTW GO PHUC YERSELF nOOb.

You need a good drum set!

And a Hurdy Gurdy!

Boomer lol. I remember used less Paul customs at 7-850 all day long. Marshall plexi 9-1000.
New house under 40k. New car 4K. Mesa Boogie MK series 850 brand new.
Stuff is crazy expensive now.
I bought a 1961 Les Paul for 300.00. A 1957 Les Paul gold top refinished For 1300.
The 80’s were awesome

I collect guns and have a focus on WW2 and before stuff. During the 90's most of the veterans died off and there families flooded the market with their bringbacks and such. Then it was almost impossible to find that old stuff and what you did find just became increasingly expensive. I expect a similar thing to happen when the old fuckers (that would be me) downsize or die, you'll see a bunch of classic amps go on the market.
You should come to our “CMP sanctioned” vintage rifle shoots; infantry and sniper. NW Tenn area. There are more of us than most folks think. No we don’t dress up. That’s goofy. We talk, shoot, learn and eat.
