"please don't hate me mama, for what I'm about to do..."

Love it.

Reo was really big in St. Louis when I was growing up. Gary R was one of my first guitar heroes!

I grew up in St.Louis too man. Till I was 14 then moved to CO. Saw a lot of good shows as a kid. At Blues Arena I think it was called. Saw Twisted Sister and Dokken (Tooth and Nail tour).....Van Halen on the 5150 tour.....Iron Maiden Somewhere in time tour and Rush Power Windows. I beleive they were all that that place.
What part do you live in?

Used to watch them alot on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert....before I played guitar. They were cool...they have a recent dvd out with a new guitar player, he's really good!

8th grade dance, when we thought love was pitching a mini tent in our pants.

Great band. Your right about that solo in keep on loving you. Great, tasty guitar playing. My band tried to do roll with the changes but we kind of dropped it because we couldn't get it to sound full enough. It was missing the organ badly. For some reason my singer wasn't unable to sing, play the piano part, and cover the organ part. Don't know what's wrong with him (sarcasm alert). Anyway, one of the rules we follow is not to use any tracks or triggered parts live. So if we suck, we will suck without any props. Take it on the Run is another one of my favorites.

It was the Checkerdome! I saw a lot of shows there as well. 5150 tour, all three nights in the front row right in front of Eddie!
I grew up in Maryland Hts, I only live a few miles from there now.

The Tone Gary was getting on them tracks is just amazing.
I am sure its a simple rig but it just sounds so POWERFUL yet clear and not over gainy.

Listen to it again... does he have any effects on that solo?
If so I cant tell....

sounds like some verb and delay

Funny how it takes a old 80's Pop song to make me drool on Guitar tone these days...

I saw REO in 77, 79, and a couple of times recently at the WI State Fair. 77 was an arena show, I was 20 rows back. 79 was a stadium show. Always a great show, good guitar work, well written songs.

In 1978 i saw Rainbow OPEN for REO. Needless to say after Rainbow's set we took off.

Love REO, just picked up a copy of their Greatest Hits last month, had forgotten how much I liked them.

"Don't Let Him Go" with the swelling guitar lines is brilliant!! Classic Rock with great lyrics and vocals is always hard to beat.

Love the earlier REO! Reminds me of hanging out after school listening to albums and smoking joints!
Jerry
