Yikes..not exactly a looker but I am sure it is a down and dirty brown sounding 1959/2204 with added gain stage or boost switch so it will sound pretty damn good. If they hit the right price point it will be a seller..

Personally, I am done buying into the hype of modded marshalls.. the original circuits are more than enough. When I crank my 2204 or play my Friedman Brahma module through my Randall with a hot pickup, I get all the goods I need. Koko boost for leads. There really isn't really that much of a difference in what you hear when you listen to what comes out of the speaker. In fact , all these modded gobs of gain amps have to be dialed back when recorded or they become smeared.

Ultimately I agree with you, especially about the recording aspect but after playing a BE-100 recently I will say it can still be a lot of fun. And I also like my Stiletto a lot. Haven't used a pedal in a long time because of that amp. But both those amps I don't need the gain knob above 9-10 O'clock to get as much gain as I can use. And it's definitely more gain than a stock plexi/2203/2204.

I still want to try some of the modded Marshall's but I agree. My JF Brahma has been my go to tone for about 5 years now. Nothing else I try comes close. I add the Koko on occasion also.

I am hoping to pick up a new DSL in a couple weeks to see how that compares. Even though I am happy with my current tone, I can't seem to stop looking for something to top it!

Damn, it sure has come a long way since this . . .

I know it's been in the works for a few years now, so I'm sure it's a good amp. I only wish the Lynchbox LB103 amps came out after they hired Fortin. I got to play a prototype before they were released, and I sort of regret not buying it (could have gotten it under $1k). But the build quality is what scared me away to be honest. I understand cost-cutting practices with mass produced amps, but the LB103 amps were almost Bugera build quality.

Count me in as well. I'm beginning to get a little fatigued by it to be honest. Kinda like I was with Rectos about 10 years ago.
