I played it and it kicks ass! Hand-wired PTP 50 watts I believe....definitely a Friedman competitor.
Naw son haha...that is a direct from Fortin prototype...don't worry Randall will Randall'fy the production model (just like every other one) & George will still be playing Friedman ;)

Personally, I am done buying into the hype of modded marshalls.. the original circuits are more than enough. When I crank my 2204 or play my Friedman Brahma module through my Randall with a hot pickup, I get all the goods I need. Koko boost for leads. There really isn't really that much of a difference in what you hear when you listen to what comes out of the speaker. In fact , all these modded gobs of gain amps have to be dialed back when recorded or they become smeared.

Agreed.

Yeah that sounds about right... and behind the Friedman he will have an old Plexi and old Boss EQ on the floor. ;)

Oh is that old plexi working again this week? I can't remember if it is the plexi's time of the month or not :)

Something is wrong. George may not hype an amp but Randall should be promoting the fuck outta this thing and for whatever reason they're not. Something ain't right.

Randall'fy should be added to the Websters dictionary.

Either somebody talked to Fortin and posted or Fortin posted on Facebook that they were waiting for Lynch's approval before formally announcing the amp. Fortin did post recently that it was coming this summer, so I'm wondering if they're going to formally announce it and hype it up at Summer NAMM.

my Buddy Joe is the national Randall Rep-- what do you want to know, specifically?

We want to know what it is based on, is there a boost built in, how many preamp tubes, what type of loop, does it have a line out from the power section, will there be a PCB version of this amp at a lower price point, when is it going to be released, will George actually use it or just endorse it on a poster? You know.. the usual stuff!

I heard Lynch playing the new Lynch amp. It sounded great! I'm looking forward to really putting one through it's paces though.

So is it like a boosted Marshall? Cameron ? It 's own thing ?

The Toneking always delivers!!

Well it sounds interesting and a lot like a plexi/2204 that you crank wide open and push with pedals. At least the line out is there.

Hahaha ok even though I too wanked through the lynch proto, with that new Randall boost pedal, I have to agree once the production models hit - it ain't gonna be the same - AND Friedmans are gonna SLAY

Great demo from Tone King , the guy demoing sounded good too. This one perks my ears for sure, Fortin is great, can't wait to actually play it. Any release date on this thing?

He wasn't playing the headhunter in that demo. He was demo'ing the guitar through another amp. He mentions the headhunter is a diff beast without as much gain and is less forgiving.... like a Marshall.

So it sounds like a 2204 or plexi opened up. You push it with a pedal. Cool feature with the power scaling but i think most people would be better off picking up a Wylde audio 100 watter for under 1k when they come out. My bet is this will be used with a Friedman for Wet/Dry application and this will take the WET on stage so his effects are cleaner.
