I already did. I'm down to an Axe II and a Matrix power amp. I still may buy a low-cost amp, like the 50w 5153, just to have a tube amp, but I'm not sure I even need that. I'm really wanting another LP Custom though.

i know the rig i was using with the axe fx cost me about 4200 altogether with poweramp, midi controller, cabinet. plus more for the full range setup i was running for awhile, and then the monitors i used at home. it was too expensive and i didn't like all the tweaking. its works great for some guys though. i kept trying models and then i would just want the real amps and not be satisfied with the modeled version. some dudes say its a GAS killer... it made mine worse!Heritage Softail":9io67f9v said:mhenson42":9io67f9v said:I already did. If you don't mind my asking, about what did the end all coin count come to for the Axe II and power section.

Yep! that was my experience. I like to keep my tube rigs very minimal and straightforward, because I can waste days twiddling knobs and pedals. It's so much worse with modelers. I seem to work better if I limit my options and get right down to playing. if you're the kind of guy who can take a modeler with infinite possibilities, find something you dig, then "set it and forget it" then the axe fx would work out great.Heritage Softail":lziu1ehy said:IF, big if there, I heard you right, the axe works good for a simplistic set up kind of person. There are too many options for a tweaked type![]()
, you get tempted to never stop tweaking.

Nah, Im finally happy with what I have. I have gone through what you have in the past many times but thats long gone. Gear is the least of my considerations these days; I have everything I need and love what I have. Playing and learning more along with just getting better is my number one priority by a long shot..Hard&Heavy":2xkeenq5 said:Is there anyone else thinking about doing this?
