If the glue is thick and gooey, you'll want a 4" wide belt sander with a 50 grit belt. The 100 grit doesn't last long, the 80 is just "ok", but the 50 grit powers through the stuff better. Just be careful not to stay in one place too long (8-10 seconds max) or you'll be doing some wood fills.
