I tried them as a buddy lives by them. I didnt care for them that much. While they kept "their" tone longer than the GHS Boomers I usually use, I felt they kinda lost that "metallic" type tone I got from the boomers.

Also, they didnt last much longer than my normal strings. Maybe an extra week. and to me, it was harder to tell that they had lost their tone and went dull. The boomers are easy for me to tell, the low E simply loses its "presence". But with the elixers, i didnt feel that they had that presence to begin with.

I love Elixirs. They don't have that top end twang that a lot of strings have, but they do have that just broken in sound that I really dig. They also then keep that sound for a really long time.

I put Elixers on all my guitars, love em...

I use them on all of my guitars. I have acidic hand sweat so when I don't use them my strings are rusted and dead in a week. With them, I can keep them on for a couple months.

Been using them for about the last 4 years or so. no break in period to speak of, super fast, and not harsh or brittle in the top end. I do notice that I tend to break either the b or d strings if I am digging in really hard, but I also have very acidic sweat, so that may have something to do with it. I usually change them out every 2 or three weeks or so on my gigging guitars, they start to sound a bit dull after that, but considering I was getting a week out of anything else I think of that as a big plus.

I love them aswell. I hate changing strings. These last a pretty long time. I used D'Addario, Ernie Ball, Markley's and they all get crud after a week or 2. I don't even wipe down the Elixirs. I use the Nanowebs. I never tried the polywebs. I get a little more than 3 times the use from them than all other strings.

My Tom Anderson shipped with a 10-46 set and although I don't play the guitar that often, the strings seen to be as new.
I'm thinking of sticking a set on one of my Yngwie's as that's my go-to guitar and if I can get a set of strings that last long, its a no brainer.

I like them on acoustics, specifically, 12-string acoustics.

It's cuts down on the string squeal....

But, they also sound like worn-out strings...

love em!!! i get about 3-4 songs out of any other strings. with the elixirs, they sound almost new until i change them. its hard for me to go back to regular strings.

Love the idea of coated strings, but can't stand Elixers...they feel funny to me.

DR Black Beauties, on the other hand, have the same basic concept, but feel "right" to me. I use them on all my guitars. Don't really care about the whole color thing, I just like the way the feel and sound and they last a loooooong time.

I go through GHS Boomers like water and may have to step up to the plate for a better string, I buy Boomers by the case and it is getting on my nerves.

I use elixirs on my acoustics and really like them.

On electrics, IMO the tone is too mellow for my solid body electrics.

Can't speak from experience but my buddy loves them, but has had many problems with breakage.

I used them for a long time - they were pretty cool. I find that the Snake Oil strings have better tone and last longer than the Elixers.

they're all i use on my live acoustics.

They can last a year for me.

I still like the sound and fell of Ernie Balls on my electrics though.

I used them for a time on my electrics, and they were ok...but I decided to switch back to my old faithful D'adarrios. As far as acoustic strings are concerned, I think the D'addario coated strings PWN the Elixr's. They sound much better and even last longer...IMO of course

I had the same issue.

I used to use Elixirs when I was doing acoustic gigs every weekend, they didn`t take any more abuse than other brands, but sounded okay on saturday as well. On sunday, they were shredded, the webbing actually came loose, and they looked like fuzzy pices of string attached to my guitar.
