Anyone ever had a big change in amp taste?

I am now having one. I am really gassing for a single channel modded Marshall with a nice greenback cab, A simple pedal board with a volume pedal, Boost, Chorus, reverb and a wah. This is weird for me, because I have been a recto kinda guy, and wanting to change to something so different is odd but I like the Idea of it. I am now going to be saving up my money and getting those things :D There are tons of old Marshalls on my craigslist going pretty cheap.

Any of you guys ever had a drastic change like this?

 All the time, which is why I own several amps, and sometimes use a multi-amp switching rig.

I recently had something similar. I'm now back to my rack rig, with my Marshall JMP incorporated, but the time I spent playing the single channel JMP with a small pedalboard was really fun. I took it as a learning moment, to use my fingers to create variation in tone, instead of all the different preamp modules I've got.

I've always appreciated tons of different tones, and I own tons of different sounding amps :)

I'm not saying I'm gonna get rid of all of my other amps, I just want simple rig that is easy to set up, and sounds really good. :D I could also get a KK JCM 800 for $800 If I wanted to be simple

I've not even been playing Metal lately. Craving a new rig for some crunchy rock tones and Fuzz sounds

I went from an AxeFx w/monitors to a Line 6 Flextone 1 x 12 recently to:

Ceriatone Chupacabra
Jet City JCA20 w/Friedman mods
Jet City JCA100H
Splawn Quick Rod
Mesa Mk IV
Orange Rockerverb
...and a "yet-to-be-named" amazing box of tone.

I consider that a big change.

Get a KK800. Those amps are really good for the money.

Carvin Legacy? I have one. Great for cleans and classic (70s and 80s) rock tones.

Yeah, I am thinking of one. I could get one for $800, and a few pedals, but I would need a new cab for it. What cab do you suggest?

Yeah, used to be all about Boogie tone now I'm all about Marshall tone, be it stock of modded. Can't get enough of it.

This..
I went through 11 years of MKIII's, a Triaxis/rack setup and then Dual Recs but went back to Marshalls. Stock or modded, fat and majestic or brutal and gut-crushing, I love them
I would not mind having a Roadster though... maybe 3 of them
Is that wrong??

Nothing wrong with it :D I have one and was tempted to buy one for $1200 when ut popped up

Went through this in the last year or so. Got rid of my 5150, which was my favorite for years; got a fender bassman and a tele. Just traded my dual rec for a jcm800. Change is good. I don't play in a metal band anymore, but honestly the marshall and a boost, and my SG could cover it.
Couldn't be happier with my tone right now.

I pretty much stick with Marshall voiced stuff. Don't see that changing any.

I dig basically Marshall and Vox tones...well, Fender too, but a Marshally/tweedy Fender.
I have some flavors I really like. It would be hard to part with any of these. The only amp I've had gas for in the last year is a Fender Hot Rod Deville III 4x10 combo.

Peters Polaris
AC15 Handwired
Carvin Legacy
Mesa Eletra Dyne
Bad Cat Mini Cat II
Fender Pro Jr
Tech 21 Power Engine 60 (to run modelers into)

Funny how each amp makes you play and write differently due to feel and tone.
Then there's guitars...I have a lot more of them. :D

I used to love tons of gain, which I have kinda passed on now.

get the kk marshall for $800. i have one and love it. but it is kinda a one-trick pony once the beast is engaged. with it off, it's a standard jcm800 and you can run your pedals into it.

i love lots of heavy tones, and keep lots of amps around to satisfy that craving.

You sure this can't just be Rig-Talk's influence? :D
