I just bought an amp from him on eBay. He has been real cool and has been more than helpful with how to set it up and what to do when I get it. Hell, it's funny because I never have been a huge Megadeth fan and wouldn't have even known who he was if I hadn't been chatting with Isaac (Taco2004) and Matt (StevieRaveOn) on AIM about it.

Crazy!

Yeah, he is a great player. I loved his work with Megadeth, but could not really get into his solo stuff that much.

Which amp did you get from him?

He wound up with two Demeter TGA 2 heads that were made specifically for Dean DeLeo of STP. They're set up a lot like the older TGA 3 amps and the TGP preamp. He has the only other one in existence. The other one is on its way here.

I really liked his band (with his brother) after he left Megadeth. Name finally came to me....Damn the Machine. Really fluid style and makes it look so easy.

I LOVE that way he slides into his bends... makes it sound like sick compound bending

Link to the completed auction?

he is a cool guy I like most of his playing but I am not really a fan of ohm.

Big fan of him...sweet guy as well as an absolutely fantastic player.

Yeah, I had to read up on him a little bit a while ago after I realized who I had been talking with.

Whatever you guys do, please don't bombard him with e-mails. I don't want it to look like I'm some kind of girly fanboy who gave up his identity on eBay. He's been real cool and I honestly didn't know who he was. :)

Here is the amp:

When I was talking to Mark Cameron a couple weeks ago, he was talking about Chris Poland, and had nothing but great things to say about him. Probably the nicest guy in the biz. I believe him and Mark are friends.

You got what looks like a KILLER amp for a steal!!

Poland was great with Megadeth and OHM is an interesting sort of fusion band. Killer player. There's an article on him in this months Guitar Edge.

Return to Metalopolis is my favorite shred disc for lifting weights....amazing player. Mustaine should be beaten (for many reasons) for firing him.

Thats funny man! I was coming on here to post the same link!
Chris Poland is my number one all time favorite guitar player!

One of the nicest guys you'll ever want to meet too. I chatted with him when he was in DC touring with his band - the guy could not have been nicer. I missed his show that night because I had to work but I got my girl to take him a copy of Return to Metalopolis and he signed it for me. When I showed up they were already loaded out and on the bus chillin'. One of the guys from the venue saw me and we started talking and he was all "sucks that you missed the show, you wanna come on and meet the guys ?" Soooo fucking cool man!! All the guys in Damn the Machine were cool - and me, I was like a star struck 14 year old girl! Could barely talk I was so nervous! And I never get like that!!

Last bit of story - I promise - the first time I listened to Lamb of God was on the As The Palaces Burn album. I'm listening to the third track "Purified" and about 2 min into it there's a lead that just kicks ass, and totally in the same style as Poland. I remember thinking "Wow these guys have fucking great influences. Obviously a Chris Poland fan too!" Yeah about a year later I was reading the liner notes and there it is "lead on Purified by Chris Poland"!!

Wish I lived in LA so I could get some lessons.
Thanks for reading all of the previous gush-fest!

Did I mention that I was a fan?
:D

LOL!

I'm definitely going to check out his work. He's been great! He will just e-mail me out of the blue about the amp and give me little tid-bits of information about it as he finds something he likes.

When I first saw the auction, I sent him an e-mail telling him that was one of my "dream amps" and I hoped to sell something in time to pick it up. I was able to do it! Anyway, he e-mailed me back and wished me good luck. He knows his stuff as far as this amp is concerned.

I've always wanted to own a Demeter, but I never thought I would get something like this. I'm honored! I also have a Naylor SD60 that Landau used to own. He never really used it, but it was his.

Kick ass dude! I'll keep an eye out for anything else he puts on the 'bay. Just on the off chance that he puts an '82 JCM 800, 2203 w/vertical inputs up for sale... autographed on the back panel! :D
