Anyone good at Tonex captures?

I only have a few ToneX ones published on Tone.net. They're pretty high-gain and you can grab them whenever you want.

The ones I did with NAM cover a decent amount of ground, depending on the amp, from clean (or cleanish) to br00tz.

- Ceriatone Chupacabra 50W: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ceriatone-chupacabra-50w-6182
- Ceriatone King Kong 100W (Mr. Scary mod included): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ceriatone-king-kong-100w-6165
- Ceriatone Molecular 50W: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/ceriatone-molecular-50w-6234
- Mesa Badlander 100W (Mr. Scary mod included): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/mesa-boogie-badlander-rectifier-100w-el34-signalart-reamp-6298
- PRS Archon Classic 50W (not as high-gain as the others but has some hair in there): https://www.tone3000.com/tones/prs-archon-classic-50-6ca7-30381
- Salvation Audio Unnamed (~ Fortin Meshuggah) preamp: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/salvation-audio-unnamed-fortin-meshuggah-preamp-31452
- Salvation Audio Camerock (~ Cameron CCV) preamp: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/salvation-audio-camerock-cameron-ccv-preamp-32179

There are a few more at the Tone3000 link in my signature but these ought to cover the bulk of it.

All my profiles have the "calibration metadata" which is awesome because profiles loaded on different setups can react / feel / sound the same as on my own. In case you want to try these out, here's how you can leverage that info:

- TLDR at 08:15 if you just want to get going; the rest of vid might give more context though -

Thanks for posting this! I updated NAM and tried them out, favorite is the Molecular 50w - now I want one! Also good tip on the noise reduction plugin, that has already made a huge difference for the better.

The new Modeling Engine update that came out the other day has completely revamped this process and made it much better and easier. I expect to see way more captures coming out in the near future due to the easier process and batch processing that is now available.

I couldn't even capture on the old version because my computer was too new, but now it only takes about 8 minutes to do an Extended Advanced capture.
What graphics card do you have?

I need to update mine.

I have a 5070.

I bought a new PC to be able to capture, and I still couldn't because the process would crash on 50xx cards. Now it is working, and super fast.
My 3060 laptop takes about 14 minutes for the extended training. My gpu has about 4,000 cuda cores and yours has about 6,000. My understanding is the 4090 with 16,000 cuda cores and has a time of 2.5 minutes. My guess is a 5080 then would be about 5 minutes. Hmm.

Looking forward to trying the new software. I have done about 20 captures with the old software. Capturing the amp only is pretty easy. With a cab has been more trial and error still.

With the new update? Or before?

Previous to the update, simple rig (amp and cab) took 45 minutes on a 2070 laptop
That is extremely long. Check if hardware scheduling is on.

I know others with a 1060 were getting it done in less time.

I believe 10 series cards are no longer supported though.

It fell in the range they have at the IK database for training times for a mobile GPU. My 1650 desktop is around 22 minutes. I can't wait to retest on the new build. I also have an M1 MBP that I carry around. I wonder if its improved those times as well

They also added batch training, so that really helps also. You could just do a bunch of captures, and then set them to train over night while you sleep.

AWESOME!!! That was the worst part compared to NAM, having to wait until the first one was finished before you even recorded another one...that would be super bad if you were renting out time somewhere to get access to the heads or the room if you were capturing the rig thru speakers

Tonight I did 5 captures, and then played through Reaper while ToneX Modeler was processing in the background.
