I have been a fan for a couple of years now. Great band live too.

Oh yeah...for many years. Seen them at least 10-12 times over the years. The best show was with Cave In and Dillinger in 1998. They basically played The Red Sea all the way through...It was amazing!

For the newly found isis fan I would I highly recommend getting Celestial and a nice pair of headphones and really diving into it.

Now if I could only see Old Man Gloom....that would be fucking amazing!

But Shea, moods are way easier to change than strings...

And dicky do loves him some Isis!

Great band but I have to be in the mood for them.

I'm much more into Red Sparrowes and Pelican, I actually left an Isis show because it was so boring :/

If i'm even slightly bored by music and everyone else is going crazy over it, i really get bugged by it. For metal at least. If i'm at some shitty pop music concert i don't care.

That's fucking bullshit! Red Sparrowes and Pelican are fucking snooze-fests compared to Isis!!
You're just a big pussy!!...there I said it!

And YES I fucking LOVE ISIS! Oceanic, and Panopticon themselves DESTROY all of Pelican's and Red Sparrowes' efforts to date!!!

Sadly...I missed their last show here locally...I'm still bummed about that.

+1 I don't know how ISIS can be found to be more boring than Pelican. While I enjoyed them when they opened for ISIS at their last show, there's no way they were more interesting. To each his own though. There's some music that I love that others hate and vice versa (comparing apples to apples, of course) and we can't explain it to one another.

Either way, I'm a huge fan of ISIS and I can always listen to them. They're the perfect backing track for when I am building pedals or doing any kind of computer work. JK Broadrick's 14:00+ remix of "Hym" is hypnotic as hell, too.

I love Isis, Panopticon is a regular in my disc rotation at work. I tried listening to Pelican but just couldn't get into it, seemed sloppy in comparison.

Part of the reason I like them is that they have a heavy f'n sound, but you can still hear the bass, even though they're tuned to B and using a lot of gain- not a lot of bands can pull that off. Check out 7:00-8:05 of In Fiction to see what I mean:

sorry, youtube codes don't work for me sometimes  Look...

i love this band. i first heard panopticon 3 years ago and i still listen to it all the time. personally, i enjoy all of their albums even though some more hardcore fans like to bash the newer albums i could care less. Wavering Radiant & In the Absence are both really awesome albums.
