Anyone still rocking the Friedman BE-OD pedal?

I just got one of these yesterday to use with my Mesa Rectoverb 25 combo. I love the Mesa dirt, but I prefer the hot rodded MIAB sound more. This definitely fits the bill!!! Love the saturation and right amount of compression. Dig it!

It’s a really decent pedal. I ultimately preferred the Amp Tweaker pedals, but could easily use the BE-OD.

I used it for a while. But even with the internal trim pots all the way down, it was just too much gain for me. I now use either an SD-1 or TC Spark Mini when I need more than amp produces.

I love the BE-OD! I use mine in front of a '76 JMP to essentially give me 2 channels. I set the amp to slightly breakup then use the BE-OD for higher gain tones. Coupled with a XP Booster (very slight boost) it sounds great! One of the additional benefits is the TIGHT control which I think makes the pedal even better.

Have you tried the Friedman small box pedal? I think it’s more in the gain range you and I are looking for.

I had the BE-OD the first day it came out. Then I had the Dirty Shirley pedal, then the BE-OD Deluxe. DS was my fav, but still too much gain. It's pretty rare I need a pedal in front of my Marshalls. I use the SD-1 with my JCM2000 DSL50 when on the green channel once in a while.

I really dig it. I have a BE-100 so I let the BE-OD go and have a Dirty Shirley pedal now, but either of those do anything for slight crunch to all out high gain really well.
