$1600 is too much to pay for a guitar.

$1600 is about right for that guitar, IF he would spec it the same way for himself.

I would have actually built it nearly identical, but with a Floyd, but again, I've never used a Kahler either.

I assure you, you don't want to, either. :D

We used to call them Failer's...They're loose old and unfeeling flappers.

What is it in particular that you prefer? What model Kahler do you think is on that guitar?

Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that I don't use the trem bar all that often anyway, with my Floyds.

Kahler Flyers were total crap, and not what was used on higher end BC Rich guitars. They were generally reserved for imports and lower level guitars. Kahler Pros were much better. Kahlers are cam operated and have a different feel. They tend to be a bit difficult for some people to set up compared to Floyds or traditional bridges. That said, they aren't harder to set up, but rather, some people get turned off by them. Kahler has been reopend over the last few years and is making some great stuff, including some custom type bridges and some with little locking allen pin in the bridge that will let you use them as fixed bridges. For what its worth, that guitar probably has a newer "Pro" type, which is part of the 2300 series, depending on what materials are used in it's build.

If this is the case, and you were to buy it, you could always replace the bridge with a Kahler 3300 fixed bridge or one of their hybird bridges. They are direct replacements. The fixed bridge looks like the trem, but is completely fixed. It is what Dave Mustaine uses....or used. I have used it and like it quite a bit. The hybird, is the one that is the same as the other Pro style bridges, but has an allen nut that you can tighten and locks the bridge together, thus making it fixed.

It appears that it's either a 2300 or 2315 that is on that guitar.

Same thing, just different metals used for different "tones."

I agree. All guitars and amps should have a standard $100 flat rate.
Pedals at $10, cables at $1.
Picks would grow on trees.

$1000 per musician per bar gig.

Complmentary classic Mustang of your choosing from the Musicians Union, and free Ray Bans if you wear them on stage.

What a wonderful world.

1600 is a decent price, the guitar looks good and its a custom shop.

I would buy that guitar in a heartbeat! I love mockingbirds! and LOVE the widow headstock! also dig the kahler it would be a win win for me! if I only cared for their neck shapes!

But I'd still pay 1600$ for it! thats a steal in my book!

Cheers!

I prefer the Kahler myself,i'm not a Floyd fan,to dinky IMO not enough meat to it,unless you play Dokken etc.
And PLEASE don't use the term "Jew" in that manner.^

At most companies using it like that would probably get you fired or at least seriously reprimanded by HR. Happened at this one tech firm I worked at a few years ago.

Does anyone remember that scene in Casino where Pesci and De Niro are having a meeting in the dessert?

Thats the Problem now a days. Use to be able to say "sit indian style" but that offended someone and now its " sitting pretzel style" wait til some Pretzel gets upset   Damn political correctness is turning this country into a bunch of sensitive wusses.

I prefer Kahler over floyd. I have a new Kahler on my 89 Charvel that has a allen bolt to lock the trem and make it a hard tail.
